Anybody still collecting SW on here?

For the large wing tiefighter, There is this one that has the blue/grey color that you said you liked:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-N...5662?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item35ca70ef7e

But be careful as there are variants out there that are lighter than the others and some have variants with washes on them. There are 4 packages like that style, one in that link, another one that has a dark gold SW logo on it and it's more blue, the Previews exclusive that has a big rebel logo on the wings from the comics and comes with Biggs dressed as Pilot and then the 30th one. All with the large wings.

The other large winged Tie that came out is the Target exclusive in a white box from a few years ago:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-L...134?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item461126dc36

The last one is the one with the removable cockpit. It's the most recent and detailed one to date:

http://www.rebelscum.com/TLCvehTIEFighterSOTE.asp

If you go with one and want detailed, that's the one to get, but it's in the lighter grey(almost white) color and not the darker blueish one you said you liked.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-T...5776?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item4ac77fb6e0

there's a loose one, not sure if it comes with a pilot, but those are easy to replace, but you can tell by the red windshield.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, I'm just gonna hold off for right now. With so many models I'm guessing they pump out the tie fighters on a regular basis. The POTJ Tie "Bomber" is looking really tempting with that low price compared to the WM exclusive one.

Does anybody have that POTJ one? If you guys say that one is trash then I wont consider getting it. I also want to get a Republic Gunship but HOLY CRAP they are expensive!

I personally, never got into the StarWars prequels they just look too weird. Why? the first 3 episodes blow the 4,5,6 out of the water in terms of technology which is weird to me because 4,5,6 is supposed to be in the future.

Sh-t, I don't even know if you understand what I am trying to say, but the only reason I want the Republic gunship is because it looks pretty cool, but I do agree Star Wars has taken a nose dive as of late.

I ordered two, and the tracking number says there is only one box.... so they either boxed them up, or they taped the two boxes together. Lord, I hope they didn't tape them together....

I would not hold it past them to tape the boxes together. I might pick one of these up for shits and giggles, but Slave I always leads to more vehicles.

Well, I already have all the Ep4-6 "vintage" releases, and I actively avoid prequel stuff, so the Slave I, Interceptor, X-Wing, and K-Mart figures are the only things I'll have to pick up for quite a while since it sounds like they are about done with the black boxes.... in favor of the black series! But the black series holds no nostalgic pull for me. I won't be buying mutables of anything, and I'll be far more selective since it won't display MOC properly with the other stuff.

If some asshat tapes my two Slave-I boxes together, I will have kittens.

To answer your question, one must first examine the colors of your TIE Fighter and TIE Interceptor related collection.

If your other TIEs are blue, then I suggest you get the blue version.

If they are gray, then get the gray one.

All I know is, they look odd when the blue and gray spacecraft are mixed together.

For any kind of Hoth style simulated battle, the gray TIE craft look excellent juxtaposed with the AT-AT and AT-ST in arctic deco. Most Shuttle Tyderians that I have seen are also in the gray deco (for Vader's landing dio on Hoth).

Space battle type dios obviously do well with the blue versions.

There is a new republic gunship coming out in the vintage packaging (TRU exclusive I think?)... I'd wait for that one.

I like the amazon droid factory packaging, wish they went that route instead of the crappy vader design.

There is also some Kmart vintage stuff coming too. Scanner crews, ewok launcher and one other thing I think. I personally hope they keep the exclusives in vintage packaging. I love that look.

I went back in and added gift wrapping to mine. I do not care about the box being flawless, but I would like to keep it for storage.

As far as SW vehicles go, they all need a paint wash and coat of dullcote to make them shine. Can't wait to paint up my Slave I and then mount Roadblock's me MG in the door. :)

Thanx for info! Is it true or is it just speculation on a new republic gunship?

It looks exactly the same? I'm not complaining, was just wondering are their any new features on this upcoming one?

Does anybody even have a Republic Gunship and paid the 100+ price tag? I want one but from just looking at it, it doesn't look like it's worth 100+. Maybe you guys are seeing something I don't see.

I was excited about those little packs.... until the only K-Mart in a 50 mile radius closed a couple of months ago. Doh!
No kidding I'm down a Kmart too. Only have 2 to easily get to.

Amazon shipping it in it's own box is some serious BS. :wtf:
I would complain to Hasbro about this. Isn't it even an Amazon exclusive?
I haven't checked yet but I'm sure the Star Wars forums are up in arms about that.

I have a ROTS version. It's ok, but I should probably get rid of it and all my other Star Wars crap with the exception of the X-Wing, Tie Fighter and AT-AT. Personally speaking, Hasbro has once again screwed up by not retooling it to be better. The could have at least replaced the dinky front two missile launchers with ball jointed lazer guns, but they were too cheap and lazy. They just want mindless fans to throw away hundreds of thousands of dollars for cheap ass bullshit.

Star Wars isn't worth it anymore. It hasn't been worth it in years.

I was able to cancel the gift wrap option and save $6. :)

The Slave I will be my last SW vehicle and of course will be converted to my alt Uni with Russian stars and door guns.

I've looked at reviews and pictures and think I can flip the seats around to face out the window and use the thing like a helicopter. Modify the side door and add door gunner if I ever get a Roadblock. This thing is made to drop elite teams of Rebels on top of AT-AT's to take the bitches down.

My BSI arrived in the Kenner box, complete with amazon paraphenila taped and stamped all over it.

Already notified them that this is unacceptable, especially since I opened the box and noticed part of the hull is damaged. I opened the side door to take a look inside, but the hull is damaged and won't allow the door to close completely.

Hopefully the replacement they send works out, but it's bullshit that I have to drive to the Post Office now to mail the thing back.

Ouch, that sucks. According to rebelscum, they have been talking to amazon, and they are fixing the problem going forward and making good with affected customers whose BSI's already shipped.

It sucks that it happened, but at least they are willing to own the problem and fix it. That goes a long way in my book.

Yeah, I hope this all works out in the end, Nacho.

A real nuisance today, though.

Oh well.
