For the "First Wave" we're doing a fully finished (Armed and Operational) figure.

We planned ahead of time on getting the figure done, and are sticking to that plan. We have a limited number of items we can produce in this wave, and it's easier in the long run to do everything the same.

I imagine in the future there will likely be unpainted versions available.

I was waivering at first, but I am likely gonna end up saving to get a "wave 1" version...then if the unpainted casts are available as well...hope to scoop up some of those eventually as well. :D

Either way for the first wave is cool with me, but with a bunch of customizers, no matter how good Obi is we might be wanting to paint it with our own idea in mind so an unpainted ersion in the future would b super special

Yeah, this is just the beginning hopefully! As the fanboi's are want to say.. buy this product so we can get you more product in the future! In this case it's honest though :)

Depending on how things go, we may release a "finished" version of each figure (painted, stand, carded, etc) and then a "customizer" version for a little less without the bells and whistles. It all depends on the number demanded etc, as we have to try and not over produce.

Just so you guys know... I'm not the painter! I don't know who it's going to be, but NOT me.

Mswi is great at painting...just say'n

Agreed. I contacted him about this early on. He did not have the time to do 50 figures. In fact no one I got in touch with wanted to try this many at once. The momentum on this keeps moving forward, so finding a painter who can tackle this big of a project will be needed fairly soon. Ideally you would want someone lined up for this in the next few weeks to be ready for the figures.

Any thoughts on having the buyer decide if he wants it painted or not? Or maybe the painted ones are the preorder ones only. Just throwing some thoughts out there. 50 is a lot to paint. shew.

You need someone who is VERY confident with their paint skills...I could see a lot of guys being confident enough with their skills for their own collection, but not so much when their work goes out to others...I would be one of those guys...

I'm sure this figure will peg warm like Arctic Destro.

I'll take the extras at a discounted price since no one is going to want multiples, you know so you guys don't get stuck with a bunch of stock.

Somebody should link this to Generals Joes. That way Obi would get well known and dissappear like the guy that did the Star Wars diorama.

What's On Joe Mind could interview him! ;)

Thinking about making a quick running change to the arms. I'll have to send these to DW Tuesday, in order for him to make the change in time. So...

Yes, or no?

Not sure what the major difference is between the first set and the second set, but something about these arms seems to work better.

I like the new arms! How about the hands? They going to be ok?

Original FF hands have a very small peg inside, so its causing casting problems. DW and I decided on using the 3-pack SE hands, which he has an easier time getting the plastic on plastic joint to work.

Either way... you (anyone) can always switch out the hands for whatever you want, once you get one of these guys.
