It's an Attacknid R/C battling bot. My wife got me 2 of them.
The cylindrical thing on top is the magazine for the foam disc launcher. I think it's perfect as the ammo drum of an oversized CIWS-type system. Just gotta scratchbuild a rotary cannon to go with it.
This was an extra head that came with my Angel Forge order. I definitely need the practice.
The eyes look pretty dang good KT...
I think jules needs a friend in furry, purple, leopard print trimmed trench coat

Just a little rejuvenation for this one. I'm torn on adding some greebles and a suppressor. A suppressor would negate the point of it being a light machine gun, though, but add something visually. :raisedeyebrow:
The light sucks, so the variation in finish and colors is mostly lost. I need to reattach and paint the boom mic, but that will be after I get the Maria Hill head painted and glued into place.
I still need to paint the pouch on the back there, I was thinking tan to break up all the olive and black?
As soon as I get another Retaliation Budo kabuto and a damn cemetery warrior head I'm gonna commence work on my Budo repaint.

Is there ANYTHING remotely realistic in 1:18th scale that can be bought or made from found bits that is remotely similar, either in design or function (i.e. multiple-barrel launcher) like the thing that came with '89 Backblast?

That one is based on a British launcher that sits on a tripod, not a mans shoulder. Forget what it's called though, but I ran across it on Wikipedia. I've never run across a toy of it either.
