Dude, I literally cannot crack torsos!

Can someone please let me know how todo this properly? I have wasted way too many figures!!

Look at the first pic... used a vice in the woodwork department... used a towel to prevent tool marks on the figure, does require a small amount of glue when putting back together.

I don't know I'm just replicating. How does anything Russian work?

I mean when I played rugby against Siberia in the mid 90's they had 2 seams on their socks (up the shin and calf ), no shit, with a shoe string sewed in at the top to tie like a shoe string to keep above the calf.

the can looks cool though

I was under the impression that you couldn't operate a machine gun on subsonic ammo. Apparently the AEK-999 (which that actually is) can. Interesting stuff.

Indeed... but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the finished product.

would take a hell of a lot of work to make me find any redemption in those CC torsos.

Those itty bits look familiar!

Oh yes, some of your haul is on the chop shop slice n dice table :D

I've done what I can with the figures so it's time to recycle aka customise.

Challenge accepted... or I'll post the lot to my personal customiser *cough* MMorelock *cough* to work his magic :D

Cracking a torso has never worked for me.

I use: razor blade (mine is flip style metal Husky blade holder), hammer, and vise grip. Line the blade up with the seam, a few good whacks on the blade handle, and repeat on other side. Just be mindful not to plunge the blade into the arms or the lower waist.

Only one torso gave me trouble. It was a Retaliation Firefly (3-pack) that was all fucked up anyway (and the reason I used it for a custom), but that was fixed with putty and paint.

Gone Baby, Gone
The newer torsos are made from a softer plastic. I destroyed the fuck out of a Retaliation Roadblock (wave 1) and I've only destroyed 3 other torsos in all my customizing. One was a female torso that I simply cranked too tight, and the 2 others had some excess glue that I wasn't aware of.

If it's the newer plastic, be careful, as it just mushes. :(

Yup. The Retaliation torsos are a nightmare.

I use a utility knife. I cut into the seam below the armpit, and sometimes pry a little, using the blade. Unlike an xacto blade, it's really hard to break.

Since nothing seems to be going right on my workbench I've decided to go back to daydreaming about doing a 1989 Mudfighter in the form of Cavalier's Mustang III:

If I were to ever find a Mustang at the right price I might cajole digler into ceasing the MRAP tomfoolery for a spell and doing up the cowl there.

Pipe dream, I know, but it's better than nothing.

Tacking the Mudfighter name on a real-world aircraft. And proving once again that Joe vehicles suck.

But maybe that's all above the grasp of a TF fan?

Anyone replaced Gymkata/Movie-accurate Rockblock's? LBV? I'm not gonna load all that kata crap on him, so I'm looking for something more traditional (read: useful).

Anything besides Cross Bones' LBV?

Hmmm, PoC IG, Cross Bones or Night Adder. Not liking any of those options, really.

Cut the kata crap off the bottom and replace with cast pouches of your choice. I am not able to post pics right now...but that is what I did...

How about one of these oldie but goodies?

Other than that, Desert Ambush Duke is one of the only other ones not mentioned above that with mods might look remotely good on his hulking body. You'd need to mod the sides and probably cut under the arms and maybe even glue it closed. Everything else just looks like a belly shirt on him, or won't even fit.

To be honest though, this is probably the best fit.

Less trouble too, I know you said you didn't like it, but all it takes is a run under hot water or a dip in boiling water or a blow with the hair dryer to soften it up and then put it on him, and I personally love how it looks on him.

Yeah, then I have no clue, lol. I know he has a little wire and walkie talkie that goes in a pocket on his back, if that helps.. I always thought it was part of a BBI lot I got years ago.
