You guys are quickly NSFWing this thread…

:headinsand:

This conversation is quickly saving this thread from the faggotry that is JoeCon 2014. I was kind enough to more-or-less leave it photo free for those of weaker constitutions.

This kit will be bigger than any before it, and it won't take 36 months for people to get theirs. :lmao:

So just got done with the custome class an it was pretty cool. I had fun meeting people but as a person that has never done customes I really did not learn anything. If I had skills I'm sure it would have been a blast. I did get bat attachments and chef parts and have no clue what to do with them but I'm sure a customizer will want them.

B.A.T. attachments should just "plug n' play" onto the right arm of any ME B.A.T.

Chef requires paint and assembly, and if you want to piss people off send it to someone like TofuJesse, Star Wars Geek or Vortious for illicit reproduction.

All of them should be sent off.

Why sign up for the class if you don't customize???

I thought it was a class were they teach you but it was more of a free for all. It was fun learned a few things and seeing boss fight make stuff was pretty cool. Plus they did hand out the bat and chef parts an that wa also pretty neat.

Customizing Class
Thursday, April 10, 9am-5pm
Want to learn how to customize your G.I. Joe figures? This year we have a very special class in store for you! With the help of our friends John Russell and the team at Boss Fight Studios, we will be teaching you how to create a custom figure using parts that have been created just for this class! When we get closer to the event, we will tell you what parts you need to bring to complete your figure. Who will it be? More to follow later...

In addition, Boss Fight will be demonstrating digital sculpting during the class and at the end of the weekend, you will receive some custom B.A.T. parts that will be designed during the class with direction from the class participants. These will be 3-D printed for you during the convention weekend! It’s a brave new world out there for customizers.
Class is limited to 60 participants. Cost is $75.

Do you think they said "John Russell" so people wouldn't realize it was Alyosha?? And with him in charge of it, it's a miracle that the parts got made. It wouldn't have surprised me if you paid the $75 and then walked into an empty room... and then just left empty handed after you got tired of waiting. You know, the same experience of ordering from his store.

I PMed duffman about buying his set. The best part is they're un-assembled. I'm looking to get them cast, but not to sell them myself. (Although whoever casts them can gladly sell them, so long as I can get a few good sets of copies. I'm just not looking to turn a profit or anything on 'em.)

Although I'm sure that the Boss Fight / Alyosha crew may not like having their parts recast and sold, so it may not be wise to sell it "on the books" on a site. Or you guys may not give a shit, but I find that to be a sort of gray area that's a "gentleman's agreement" amongst your fellow casters?

I'm pretty sure the Club paid Bossfight for the sculpt work and Alyosha to cast them. Which would mean any ownership rights belong to the club and would be akin to casting club/hasbro products

I like the Steel Brigade pilot and zombies. Not sure on the Clutch from pics, but not sure I'll bother getting any of them. Not exactly must haves...

Clutch and Ice Storm are nice figures but aren't worth near what the market will bear. And the Steel Brigade Zombie 3 pack is disappointing. I would have prefered Sludge Vipers, but I guess since they'd look similar to Replusor the Club went in a different direction.

I'll try to get my hands on a Parachute drop NF Crazylegs but I won't over extend myself for it.

Yeah I want a NF CL to complete my set from last year, but I just don't care about everything else. Well maybe that 3 3/4 Joe Colton...

Yeaaaah, I think I'm gonna pass on all those, including the zombie SBs. They're the coolest ones, and I kind of dig the pilot, but he's nothing new really. At least the zombie SBs have new parts.

That Clutch looks like asshole, who painted the fucking eyes?! NF Crazy Legs, I love that body but not for him, so he's a pass.

I may get that stupid carded Colton just to have him, because he'd be the only 25th carded figure I don't own besides Rowdy Roddy Piper and PDD. (Both of which are hideous, too.)

At least Colton is an ARAH-accurate character and the fuzzy-headed-looking head is a novelty, but he's not worth more than $60 to me so I doubt I'll have him.

Colton's the only one I like, but he's a undersized head on a Prof. X buck, and I can make him for far less.

I like the card art for Joe Colton better than the figure.

Someone on ebay is taking offers on his 5 NF Crazylegs. He's asking $180 each or Best Offer. I lowballed with $75 just on the off chance he's looking to dump them quick. No surprise it was rejected. I'm putting a limit of $100 for him. If I can't get one at that price, I'll live without it. Hell, I could probably customize one easily since I can use the DV body and the Ult Flint parachute harness. Maybe I'd even repaint the Renegades Ripcord harness and chute backpack.

I've not seen one that has worked. Prof. X/SDCC Destro is especially bad because the neck is so short.

I don't want that figure for the figure, I want it for the carded figure. I can't replicate that so I want the carded version or none at all. I don't even want to make one as it looks bad. I'd make a different head choice if I were to make one.
