After all I've read about the quality and durability of the Masterpiece KO's, I just spent 200 bucks on Prowl, Smokescreen, "Streak", Sideswipe, Red Alert, and Tigertrack. 35 bucks a piece and free shipping ain't bad.

You are now the KO king! I have the KO Tigertracks still in the box, and I've ordered a KO Sideswipe even though I have the Tak version, just because I wanted to see both modes at once.

I have a ton of the KO G1 figures in the boxes, just for the nostalgia factor of the packaging as much as the figures. They're great.

I don't mind KOs as long as their quality is on par with the official releases. But I would never spend money on a KO if it was horribly inferior to an official release and was prone to falling apart if I looked at it wrong.

They even went back and spelled Countach and Lamborghini correctly on mine. Only thing that was off was the tab on the chest that holds him together. I had to widen the hole under the bumper.

My MP-10 is on it's way and I'll report on the improvements over the original run of them.

I'd love to hear how the Datsun mold is compared to the official.

I just picked up the TRU Prowl, but I'm gonna return him...not worth $70 to me...$35 on the other hand...

I think sirtoys has them for 39.99 a piece or 34.99 a piece if you buy $100 or more in product.

Ebay + free shipping worked for me.

Man...I checked his store...very tempting to do what you did and pick them ALL up...but then I'd need an MP10, and any other MPs that came out...such an $$$ snowball effect...

Yeah. I also want to get the Xtransbots Huffer and Pipes. I had to hold myself back since I promised myself to not go crazy what with the move in a few months.

Blah blah blah. I'm not paying 70 bucks for a toy that can be made with similar quality and sold for half that. It'd be different if I was a cheap bastard and opted for poor quality KOs. Hell, it makes me wonder if HasTak isn't actually in on the KO game to increase their own profitability.

I do not get why Hasbro's Prowl cost more than Takara's.

I understand Takara is paying for the R&D, but it's proven that these KO's are completely retooled, so this company has all of the same production expense and yet can get them out the door at a 50% discount at the same and sometimes better quality. The 2nd run of KO MP-10 has a ridiculous amount of extra paint apps and now the paint is metallic. These are not cheap toys quality wise.

It's because they don't have to pay for the R&D and all the production that leads up to the mold. It's easy to steal something that's already been made and copy it.

Guess I worded it wrong. With these guys they are stealing the R&D/engineering, but then making their own molds, sometimes with improvements. A lot of the molded details are crisper on the KO's which is not normal. With MP-10, they even re-engineered it to remove the screw hole from the crotch which requires R&D. It's just a bizarre situation all around since they are not just making molds from Takara's pieces.

I will probably buy a real Wheeljack if I can find it for a decent price, but BBTS wants $75 before shipping and that's utter BS.

The thing that really kills me with the price on these official MP cars is that the Binaltechs were larger, more detailed, had full interiors with opening doors/hood/trunk and were made from metal for the same price. You cannot blame the price of oil or materials on this increase. Takara is simply slapping MP on the box and charging a nostalgia tax. Hasbro is just straight up raping us with nostalgia considering Prowl is $50 more than an Alternator.

Optimus is amazing guys. His metallic paint looks great, not overbearing at all. The screw on his neck looks to have been over tightened and striped the plastic, but the tiniest of dots of superglue will remedy that single flaw. All joints are nice and tight, just how Eddie likes 'em. The gaps from the first run are non-existent and the Matrix and feet are metal.

Transforms well, only getting the legs to collapse was overly tight. Not sure how much of a fan I am for this mold in truck mode. It seems like a step back from MP-1.

Zero issues transforming him to alt and back. My hands have flakes of metallic blue paint on them, but I do not see where they came from. Wheel covers on legs do not stay perfectly closed, but I do not know if this was an issue with MP-10 or not. Overall I am satisfied for the money (he was only $110 plus a $5 coupon when I bought him) and am glad I bought him over the future official release this winter. I much prefer the silver paint on the legs and crotch plus all of the added details.

Did the $110 include the trailer? I'm not interested in it...if not, $110 seems like quite a jump from the cars $35...yeah, I know he's bigger, but doesn't seem $75 bigger...
