Good 1:18th scale truck?

I need a good, not overly muscled truck in our scale. I'm aware of the Tree House Kids vehicles, but they stand too high and are exaggerated.

I know of Shleich, but there's are not 1:18th.

I just need a simple, run of the mill looking truck and that doesn't cost an arm and a leg...any suggestions?

P.S. I'm going to turn it into a technical.

Might be too jacked up too. There is a pickup truck too.

But check into the rest of Adventure Wheels. They may have one in the line.

Yeah, all of the Bass Pro/Duck Dynasty=Tree House Kids, all are jacked up and otherwise exaggerated.

The truck Fled posted is Schleich and therefore around 1:16th scale.

It seems like all the diecast trucks are Fords. My intense dislike of fords aside, they just don't strike me as good technicals. I'd kill for some manufacturer to make a 1980-something 4x4 Toyota pickup... both because I had an '80 and a '91 back in the day, and because they'd make the best terrorist trucks ever. I'd even be inspired to buy an airbrush and learn how to make stuff look rusty/dirty.

Here's the new Schleich pickup truck. It is generic, won't find ford or chevy markings and seems like the best thing out there at the moment. It's only $22 shipped from Walmart or Amazon. Toys R Us doesn't carry it. Ignore the tank photo that slipped in there.

I've been partial to that CORPS! truck in the background of the shots.. I have a beat up one from years ago.

If we're honest that's what he really wants if he's going for a technical. Unfortunately I hear they're rare and expensive these days. One on FleaBay for $60.

They used that mold in one of their civilian lines, too. Want to say it was red.

The Toyota Hilux!

The Corps! Makes/made one

I got one, bought it at the fleamarket for $3. I go back to bama this weekend,I'll look for it. If I can find it,I'll pass it on to ya if you pay shipping...that's if I can find it,I haven't seen it in a while.

It'll need painted tho. Kinda ruff..

Thanks for all those comparison pics!

Yes, thank you VERY much! That red Schleich truck actually looks pretty good!

I've been looking at old-school (Tim Mee toys) plastic vehicles on eBay today. Not extremely detailed but cheaper than some avenues.

Way too small.

I'd be prepared to get a truck and wheels from different sources.

DOH.. I think I had one of those CORPs ones and gave it away a few years ago to this guy who bought a bunch of junker vehicles.

Hmmm...that's a pretty nice option.

My reply won't help much, but - try to build one! :pirate:

Thanks, but I think that's a bit outside of my skill set.

The mxs trucks I posted a link for I think would work nicely for a technical

Yeah, those aren't too bad...a bit on the steroid side, but my options are slim.

Burder make a Land Rover that works well with modern figures. They have two versions one with a roof and one thats a truck. Here is the one I have with the roof.

I ran across this picture I had and remembered this thread. I don't know is you still need a truck or not but there was one in a cheap K-mart construction playset. It looks a little small though. I have one somewhere. If I find it I'll post a pic here.
