Enh, I was stoked on this line when it was announced early on, but between the reveals I've seen so far and Legends of the West, I'm gonna pass on Eagle Force.

The timing of this, the Cowboys, the Hell Screamerz, and the Unrustable Bastards 'Powermaster Junkions' is gonna have me picking and choosing. I'd go All-In on everything if I could, but that could very easily run $2,000 for unmanufactured toys within a 2-month period. I'm gonna regret missing out on the 'Lone Ranger' All-In exclusive, a lot.

KS cleared them early, so they went live early!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/549582372/eagle-force-returns-action-figures?ref=project_share

It's very ambitious adding in the gliders and the base, but I dunno how many bites they're gonna get for that stuff outside of deep-pocketsed All-Inners. This time around I'm only really wanting like 8 figures.
Takedown, because it'll be nice to get a buddy for Shockwave.
Eagle Trooper for his Halo/BattleForce 2000 vibe.
Eagle Officer, because that's a bad guy and I don't care what anybody says about it.
Firebug, because he looks better than Fireball.
Hornet, because Evil Kato is cool.
RIOT Commando, because he looks like he wants to be on the Plague Patrol.
Arctic Commando, because the same.
Ultima Thule, because he'd make a great Red Hood.

Maybe some of the other Unlockables once we see the digi-renders.

I backed with the pick 10 for $200. I was wondering if anyone was interested here..quite a thread / discussion going on hisstank...fresh monkey is listening to the chatter and engaging with supporters and making changes as they go...

I like the designs, and if these were $8 at retail, I'd definitely pick up some. But I can't get excited about 4" figures that I have really limited nostalgia for at $20 a pop. Too many Marvel Legends and 3P TFs taking up all the funds...

But I have to give them credit for taking a good swing at this property. I have no doubt they'll make it to the goal in 26 days, as there is always a push at the end for "good" kickstarters.

I ended up funding one figure, but I'm still so meh about it that I may end up canceling.

Since the Takedown Unit figures are now available I'll be increasing my level quite a bit. Kickstarters often go into a lull in the middle. They usually start strong and if they get on a roll towards the end they end strong.

I have little faith they'll get anywhere close to unlocking them, doesn't stop them from being interesting.

I saw the prototype in hand and it looks great. I just don't like the height. And I think the collar-shoulder is too wide. It's like the shoulders aren't embedded into the torso.

I thought I'd jump in here and see if you guys had any questions about the Eagle Force Kickstarter...we got 2 weeks left. I'm interested to know if folks are backing the campaign and if not..why? Even if it's not your bag, I'd be interested in some feedback.

Behind a camera watching you!
Welcome to the site Fresh Monkey. I really like what you are doing. Eagle force was never my thing, but I'm tempted by the playset, & some of the troop builders.

Hope you get all your funding goals.

Awesome...glad you dig them! We tried to offer as much variety as we could.

First off, I want to state that I'm not a backer, although I've been watching closely. I'm really glad you guys met the minimum goal to move the project forward. Projects like this definitely have a place in the collecting space, and I hope that more of them find their audience.

While I really like the figure designs, there are a few things holding me back. When it comes to military figures, I'm looking for one of two things: heavy realism or heavy nostalgia. The figures are faithful-to/heavily-inspired-by the original EF line, and that's great, but it keeps them from being particularly real-world accurate. And while I owned an EF toy or two as a kid, there isn't anything close to the nostalgic pull of GIJoe (military) or other major toys of the 80's (Transformers, Star Wars, MOTU, etc). I'm just missing a real connection to the property.

Call me cheap, but I can't pay ~$20 for 4" figures that are cool but that I have little connection to. If these were at retail for sub-$10, I'd probably pick up several for my collection, see if my kids liked them, etc. But for the price of a 6" Marvel Legends with a BAF part, I just can't justify it. I know some think it's unfair to compare a mass market product to a niche specialty line, but that's the legit competition (at least to some of us) for our spare collecting dollars... along with 3P $Transformer$, Lego/Megabloks, and other drains on disposable income.

Regardless, I love seeing projects like this succeed, even if they aren't all up my alley, and I hope that it continues to meet stretch goals and that Fresh Monkey has other lines coming in the future. If so, I suspect one or more of them will push the right buttons for me. Best of luck!

I backed the kickstarter...I am more of a military action collector / customizer...so I am getting pick 5 and a couple 4 man troop builders (Assumimg Grim reapers are unlocked so already bumped to 2 4 man squads) ...maybe add one a single one or 2 if stretch goals go far enough - or rework my pledge to pick 10 and 2 army builders...depends on where it ends up. :)

This is great feedback! Thanks for posting. I hope once we do things in the future to connect you with Eagle Force....that's one of our goals for sure.

I'm "All In" and then some on this one. So many great uses for the army builders in this lot. The Bull Dog troopers have one of the best woodland cameo schemes I've seen in this scale. The Riot Commandos have a heavy NOD vibe to them. I'll be getting the Urban troops as well, another great camo pattern. The gold and black troops which at first were a pass for me, until I realized they work perfect for a Team-X squad in the Marvel universe. If the fire bugs were available in a green and yellow paint scheme I'd get any army lot of them as well. I've also started to pick up some CORPS, PTE, and a few other odd lower priced vehicles to create an Eagle Force motor pool.

I will say the green and yellow paint scheme will be explored in future waves for an army builder.

Well, this is closing soon. I'm glad the reaper troopers got unlocked, since they look pretty cool. I'm disappointed that the Modern Redwing figure (probably) isn't going to make it though.

Any plans for a wave 2 in the future?

A long time in coming but it finally arrived. Looks good in the package, good enough that I went to ZICA Toys website and ordered a couple more troops to go with this guy. I’m not into the story line of these, I just wanted more 1/18 military guys for my ever growing banana republic 😉

I always welcome more 1/18 scale stuff. The saboteur guys blouse (jacket) and Sam brown belt would make a great state trooper custom. We would have to wear the blouse on special assignments in the old days and they were uncomfortable and hot. July in Richmond can be brutal 🥵
