First off, I want to state that I'm not a backer, although I've been watching closely. I'm really glad you guys met the minimum goal to move the project forward. Projects like this definitely have a place in the collecting space, and I hope that more of them find their audience.
While I really like the figure designs, there are a few things holding me back. When it comes to military figures, I'm looking for one of two things: heavy realism or heavy nostalgia. The figures are faithful-to/heavily-inspired-by the original EF line, and that's great, but it keeps them from being particularly real-world accurate. And while I owned an EF toy or two as a kid, there isn't anything close to the nostalgic pull of GIJoe (military) or other major toys of the 80's (Transformers, Star Wars, MOTU, etc). I'm just missing a real connection to the property.
Call me cheap, but I can't pay ~$20 for 4" figures that are cool but that I have little connection to. If these were at retail for sub-$10, I'd probably pick up several for my collection, see if my kids liked them, etc. But for the price of a 6" Marvel Legends with a BAF part, I just can't justify it. I know some think it's unfair to compare a mass market product to a niche specialty line, but that's the legit competition (at least to some of us) for our spare collecting dollars... along with 3P $Transformer$, Lego/Megabloks, and other drains on disposable income.
Regardless, I love seeing projects like this succeed, even if they aren't all up my alley, and I hope that it continues to meet stretch goals and that Fresh Monkey has other lines coming in the future. If so, I suspect one or more of them will push the right buttons for me. Best of luck!
