I couldn't agree with you more, K-T. I frackin' LOVE me some vintage Joes (especially Jinx), but I love them because I played with them as a kid. Taking those crazy and too-colorful designs and slap them on a new figure doesn't do it for me. Any new figure I buy should at least attempt to look military-realistic.

I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here, though. As much as I loved Zandar as a kid, I think I am the only one who doesn't like him in the Dreadnok 7-pack. I'm looking for modern updates, not just of tooling, but designs. Otherwise, I'll spend my money on more vintage 0-ring lots on eBay.

You're in no minority here Charade.

Another figure that is a pass. Now it's not worth it for me at all. I like maybe 1 figure to this point. I was going to sign up for the Footloose but will pretty much scrap that idea. I'm just not that big on an ARAH fan. As much as it's nice to see these figures in modern era styling you can get the O ring figure for less on average. I would only get any of this years stuff to sell it and doubt that would be worth the time. At best I think you can make your loot back per figure, maybe a little more except for the troop builders. Tan Grunt and that stupid BAT will get decent scratch probably.

if done right they can make a V1 of her easily look at the 30th line ie stalker sci fi & lifeline they are true to the v1 looks but are well updated so thay can do it.

The problem here is Stalker was running around in BDUs, while Jinx was running around in the bright red pajamas of 1980s ninja movies.

I was going to sign up for the Footloose but will pretty much scrap that idea. I'm just not that big on an ARAH fan.

I still maintain that a PoC/30th Footloose could be the most awesome Joe figure to date. And I'm not talking about just painting a Pit Commando in woodland BDUs.

Bleh. Jinx is on my want list, but way down the line. I want Frostbite, Cross Country, Iceberg, etc, etc. way before anymore damned ninjas. This is definitely not what I wanted in a Jinx figure though. Here was the thought process put into this one: "Oh, hey, what's a female mold we scrapped? Paint it red."

I never got the hard-on that nerds had for that stupid City Strike Scarlett. It was an awful repaint of Resolute Scarlett when they first showed her, and I lost no sleep when she was cancelled.

As far as the Club figures are concerned, Footloose is a must-have and I keep waiting for Cover Girl to be shown. If CG is crap, then that may change my mind on this sub. So far, I've not been impressed.

CG is the only must-have from the entire crap lineup. There are others I want like Slice/Dice/Topside, but I won't be too upset if I never get them. Footloose and CG are essentials.

I'm not crazy about him. coulda been worse but he could have been better too. They shoulda ran with the Storm Rider Vest look for most of the crew. Makes it look like a real MC.

So, apparently there is speculation that Hasbro has plans on making an ARAH accurate (or close to it anyway) version of Jinx in the upcoming movie line, since Jinx is in the movie. The reasoning for this is b/c some believe the club would have tried to do a more ARAH accurate version of Jinx if Hasbro didn't already have some kind of plan for her.

It would be nice if this is true, but I'm not holding my breath.

i don't believe it, not for one second...why?...the club couldn't possibly even TRY and do a ARAH accurate Jinx, because like we talked about, there is NOTHING in their library they could use for her...BS, 100% total BS...

though thats not to say Hasbro doesnt intend to do her at some point, just that club NEVER had the intention...

I'll second that.

i'll 3rd that...

I really love this figure. Sure I would have liked an original modern version too.
I don't have a Resolute Scarlett yet either.
I thought it would make more sense to have Jinx instead of CS Scarlett.

This makes a lot of sense actually!
Then they can repaint it multiple times! :D

Next reveal in 3 days.
It seems obvious now that they will use RoC parts for again. I'm wondering if they will use Gen. Hawk's vest (25th or RoC). Perhaps painted as the very first Cover Girl in blonde & OD green?

I expect her to be the Sparta, with slightly recolored pants/shirt (so they don't match) with the DTC vest that has been used on a billion customs already (the same DTC figure that the head came from that they retooled for the Club's "Sparta").

My bet is, I'm not going to give a fuck till they show an awesome Cover Girl. They may be saving the best for last, but at some point they need to show something that'll excite almost everyone at the same time.

at the rate they are going, i think they've lost lots of potential buyers...if they knock CG out of the park, this subscription thing might not make it past this one time...

though, guys at HT have proven time and again that will indeed buy ANY turds with the Hasbro/Joe name on it...

The thing that gets me, is that they can make some awesome figures. I really liked Claymore, despite the awkward proportions he had. He wasn't 100% vintage-accurate, either, but he looked great. That Wet-Suit was AMAZING. I want to troop-build him. Hell, even the Mission Brazil 2 Dial-Tone was damn awesome. Sparta was even pretty solid. Hell, although he wasn't as good as he could've been, Leatherneck was better than the Hasbro versions that were released. And the upcoming Footloose looks fantastic, too.

Then, the single-carded version of DT was odd-colored (skin), made from bad combinations of parts, etc. The gear was the wrong color. Etc. Mainframe was awful. But overall that set was pretty great.

The subscription figures so far are kind of lackluster. At least the 7 of the 12 that they've shown so far. I'm crossing fingers that the rest will be kind of awesome, but I've liked less than half of the ones shown so far.

Yeah, they were just given random molds and told "Here, slap some shit together and throw some colors onto them." It's almost like a prank.

Yep that's what they do.
Barrel Roll has POC Duke's body! I don't like it at all! I would have rather liked an Iceberg! Tollbooth! even TIGER FORCE ROADBLOCK!
I doubt I could even sell this turd for as much as it will cost.

Barrel Roll looks ridiculous... What was the inspiration for that crap?

That figure is almost worse than the Nano-B.A.T. Almost. It's slightly better than Quarrel or whatever her name is, because it's a new head and helmet, and a new (to me) character, but it's one of the worst entries in the sub so far.

I actually don't think that figure's that bad. The color scheme is whack, especially that brown. It could be spruced up a lot with a little detailing/weathering.

I agree with Darth, though, that helmet is funky.

Having said that, I would never pay more than $10 for that figure, let alone $20+....

Maybe it's just me, but I thought nano-BAT is the worst so far. And I kinda like Quarrel (but again, not $20+ for a repaint like).

It would be interesting, when we get more figures in, for the forum to vote for who we all think was the best and, most importantly, the worst of the subscription figures.
