FYI, this is from General Joe's site (who got it from HT, but I'm giving Justin all the credit). Circled is supposedly a Cobra symbol. I have to say, that is a kick-ass "boat"...
Definitely looks like it. I like the ERAesque look this thing has got.
As for those three knuckleheads that made up Cobra in RoC, I think Baroness might have been recast, but it's looking like maybe RoC canon is largely out.
And let's be honest, the only thing good about RoC's story was Zartan's infiltration of the Presidency.

Well, if it gets more like "real" (OG) GI Joe, that's an improvement at least. I also like the use of the SCAR (man I'd love to own a SCAR-H), though I wish Rockblock had something a little more potent than a SAW, a 240 at least. FN is definitely getting their weapons in there. But yeah, so far it looks a little better (though they definitely still dress alike - true to real military, not so good for unique action figures).
QFT also no blue pajamas lol. now as long as they dont bring back the robocop suits, the nano bugs & trys to keep true to the joes we know and love i might go see it but time will tell. i just hope we get some killer figs out of it this time.
Trailers can be very misleading imo. They aren't going to show nanomites or whatever in the trailer. They are going to lure you in with "The Rock" and that cool looking boat, and then comes the sci-fi/ninja bs. And there will be plenty of ninja bs and it won't get resolved in this movie either. Imo Hollywood can't make a Joe movie.
No, it's not military... It's... GI Joe!!! (i.e. Gung Ho, Blowtorch, Barbeque, Lifeline, Airtight) Thus, it should resemble the Village People, not the 75th Ranger Regiment...

There was variety last time, it's just they screwed it up and made the camo baby blue.
Contrary to what some might think Joes should look like a military unit, not like a toy collector or paintballer that bought some non-matching crap at a dingy Army surplus store and paired it with a keffiyeh, a pair of ratty Mechanix gloves and/or whatever sports team jersey they had lying around that would fit over their Cheetoh gut.

this was my number one beef with the first film..."gangsta" Duke was just horrible...the whole movie it was like he wanted to wrap a rope arond his neck and jump from a rafter...emo pussy

No doubt, man, although that didn't seem help the first one.
I've probably already said this but the typical formula for movies is that sequels will almost always be inferior to the original or first movie. That being said, GI Joe The Rise of Cobra was only a dumb, mediocre film at best. Therefore, there is little hope that the second move will be any good no matter how it's marketed.
My friend told me MTV is on set today for more publicity. So maybe we'll get some info or whatever.
