did some more painting on my Long Haul (Heavy Labor)...painted his purple bumper green...i just couldn't take it any longer...but i left the back side purple...

Well shit. I found a fix online but after I moved mine it didn't seem to make a noise or anything so I assumed mine was fine.

Nah, mine wasn't messed up. I was able to fix it:

Although when I went to take the legs off, I realized someone else had already disassembled the legs, or it came from the factory missing 2 of the smaller screws and with the big screw in the knee nearly stripped on one leg.

Not a big deal, as I used a larger screwdriver to take the kneecap screw off, and I swapped one screw from the other leg that had both, but I thought that was odd. So I was able to align the ratchets properly and put it back together. I haven't had any problem so far, but I'll let you know if I do.

thats not the problem i'm talking about...that one is easily fixed...the one i'm refering to is the forward/backward movement...if you disassemble the crotch, you will see what i'm talking about...

leave the legs on...take out the four back screws, the two crotch screws behind the green plugs, and one screw holding the black part together that you will see once you remove the four back screws...

inside of the crotch you will see obliterated cogs/gears

have you moved his legs forward/backwards yet?

if yes, then you already f'ed em up and just don't know it yet...

theres a cog and a ratcheted tooth in his crotch...problem is, there is no reliefe or clearance when the cog teeth pass the ratchet tooth and they just get sheered right off...

i moved my leg just ONE click to test it out...then i opened HL and that one tooth was broke off...so i cut a piece out of the ratchet part so it would "give" when the teeth passed over it instead of sheering the teeth off...

Ah shit, nevermind. I just realized it was in his crotch. I thought that fix was for his legs, but that's in/out movement, not forward/back.

How do you access the crotch screw to take it apart?

push down on one side of the plugs and the opposite side should lift up enough to slide something in and pry up and out...

I never would've found those two green "plugs". They looked like they were part of the mold.

Thanks for the fix, although like you said, yep, I did already mess mine up. I did the Dremel fix by shaving off the inside of that square piece, but several of the teeth on both legs were semi-broken off.

I would think that the fix from TFC would need to be either the entire crotch piece plus the upper legs (from the knees up) or very detailed (i.e. not Engrish) instructions with two to four replacement green plugs (I fucked mine up with scratches trying to remove the damned things) and the gray forward/backwards hip sections, and fixed square... uh, whatever those pieces are.

We emailed them back last night. I'm hoping that since replacing the finger doesn't require any disassembly, that they can mail the fucking index finger joint in an envelope and not have to waste my time shipping it back to them, then another week of UPS Ground to get it back to me. My girl is super pissed that she paid $35 expedited shipping to get it to me by my birthday, and a month and a half later it's still incomplete.

If BBTS gets Hook in by the 10th, I'll ship my POL. I may ship it regardless. With their warehouse handling times and UPS ground shipping it should make it here by the 21st, right?

If not I'll just wait, because I'll be out of town till Jan 6 and don't want my stuff just sitting at our door, regardless of being in a gated building.

Any more word on that Ironhide and Ratchet? Those are two I'm looking forward to as much as Devastator.

That G1 Megatron looks great. Which 3rd party is designing that one? Classics-sized or not, I need a 'toon accurate megatron. Even MP megatron looks too much like the toy and not enough like the iconic look. That's the beauty of MP-01. When it came out, it was impressive not just because of it's size and detail, but because it looked exactly like the optimus prime toy that a generation had waited for. MP Megatron looks like a giant version of the one we had as kids. Yeah it's big, and it's detailed, but it doesn't have that Frank Welker "I'll crush you with my bare hands" look I so desperately want in a megatron toy. This 3rd party thing is the closest thing so far, regardless of scale.

as far as i know, it's still a mystery as to who is making it...

but i totally agree about the MP Megs...they were so concerned about making the gun mode the priority or being toy accurate, that the bot mode suffered horribly...i literally HATE the toy...the legs are just horrific...

so yeah, this mystery Megatron looks amazing IMO...i just picked up the Revoltech Megs yesterday...he's freaking cool!..and he'll scale well with Hercules

Yeah, Revo Megs is about the closest we've gotten. He's a good base for cutomizing other Revo TFs too. My shockwave is primarily megatron parts.

Yeah, I have five or six that are half-finished!...... But I started building a large house (acting as my own contractor), and it killed any hope of toy customs progress in the near future. It'll probably be 6-9 months before I think about working on them again.

Just got the MP-10 finger in. Almost 7 weeks from the day it was ordered, and shipped with expedited to boot. At least they fixed it, and now I have a complete MP-10 finally.

The funny thing is the index finger was shipped in the same size box as the entire robot portion when they returned him. It was a giant box, with a $.01 invoice for "replacement part" and had the usual bubble sheet and a BBTS postcard-sized flyer. I can't tell if they were being smartasses or what, but I laughed at the absurdity of it.

I've got Prowl, Jazz, and Bluestreak about half finished. I've started the obvious Thundercracker & Skywarp repaints of starscream. I've got all the parts I need to make the three coneheads, and I have about finished designing soundwave, topspin, twintwist, and an armored G1 version of Ultra Magnus. I might even have a couple more in the works that I've forgotten about. I'd have to check the spreadsheet.

I have gathered a ridiculous number of parts and spent a ton to get everything I need to make them all, but as you can see, my ideas and parts gathering greatly outstrip my free time.

Nice! That Herc really is a great Revoltech scale.

I do have a lot of them planned! I have even more actually planned, but they are so far off, I didn't even list them. I have a pile of HotRods and Starscreams still in the boxs waiting to be made into something new. Megatron is good for the larger/bulkier figures. The Prime/Magnus figure is craptacular as a custom base, as the shoulders have less movement and are stuck tilted inward at the top.
