OK Guys ,
This is it. It is too bad that the first semi rigid resin did not work.
It cleaned up real nice with very little effort .
The new cream colored rubber tracks are another story.
It took me 4 hours of trail and error to clean it up.
The problem was the flash between the...
OK I think we are out of the woods .
I sprayed the tracks with my primer sealer and got some bumper and trim spray primer from O Rielys Auto .
Both worked well in a stretch test so it looks like both can be used .
The primer sealer is gray and the bumper primer is black.
As far as...
Thanks but it is a big set back.
I got the resin rubber in today and have cast my first set of tracks .
I will tell you all how they turn out .
After 16 hours !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys ,
I AM HAVING MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE TRACKS .

1. Green stuff is fine but I use Bondo glazing putty it is red in color and sets up FAST .
2. The piano wire can be cut with snippers but becareful so the wires does not fly away.

I am accepting pre production payment of $300 ( plus shipping )
I am not sure of the B-24 maybe the cockpit nose section .
Rather than do the whole ship I could do the nose section. IF THERE IS INTEREST .
Here you go .
The only critical issue is the cutting of the hull. The cut line is 33 mm from the front. Cut it strait and all should be good.
Once you cut it clean up the new front end and glue it in.
Once together glue on the sides and the rest of the pieces clean up and putty and that...
The gear I got from Shapeways is the frosted detailed . It is some kind of clear plastic that is not that all strong. I snapped on of the main rotor hub arms while working with it .
I will send ( when I sorted it out ) the Shapeway landing gears to my metal caster.
Well I got the landing gear in and it is about 20 pieces !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need to sort it out to see what I want made out of metal vs resin.
I will try and post some pics later on today .

And that is what we have done .
Sometimes we are able to cheat . If we have a piece that is flat and has multiple shaped outline...

So in a week or so I will have them in hand.
Then the gear will be shipped to my metal caster to make metal copies .
This beast will be heavy so I need something to hold her up without fail.
