    SWG's molding and casting tutorial

Yeah, make sure the temp is low, and make sure you pressurize first for a while, to get that initial cure started. Jesse helped me figure out that the pieces were too thin that they weren't generating enough heat to fully cure. So I had the same problem, when I pulled the parts they were sticky...

    SWG's molding and casting tutorial

Task 2 is a semi-soft resin, correct? I had issues with some Task14 and Task16 which are both softer setting resins. Are the pieces you are making smaller/thinner then a normal piece? I asked Jesse about some problems and he told me to place the mold in question into a 'hot box' which is what he...

I actually did inquire about advertising on the site a while back and never got a response.

Casting Sites: Links, Info + Alerts

Oh yeah, he banned me because he said that HIS forum was not the place for ME to advertise my stuff. I asked him why that's ALL he does on EVERY forum that he has an account at, but never got a response. Go figure.

Casting Sites: Links, Info + Alerts

I know exactly who you mean. I made a comment in one thread about how I had a piece that someone was asking about and after I made the mold I thought it was too small. Not a mention of my store, not a word of here's where you can buy it, nothing. Simply stating that it was too small... he...

    StarWarsGeek custom casts

Those were sent to me by Marauder Reuben/TR1ER but they were from some existing figures, I'm not sure which. As for the shrinking, I have a ton of stuff to do, it's just trying to figure out how to get it done properly lol. So far I only have about a 2% success rate with the shrinking. Most of...

Get a color wheel. It's not always "add white" to make something brighter or more vivid. You could spend weeks learning color theory, but a color wheel will help you a lot. You can get them at most art stores for like $3

Best way to paint match IMO is this: http://www.reapermini.com/powerpalette You upload a pic of the color you're trying to match, and that will give you the Reaper Master Series color that matches it as close as possible. For me, I use Reaper Master Series paints, so I'm done after that. But...

    Tutorial Index.

I'm planning on doing a "Customizing 101" type of tutorial series, covering everything from start to finish. I'll post links here, or even copy the text and videos into a thread here. I'm hoping to do it on a weekly basis, starting next month.

Yeah probably best to do that. Like I said, it fits, but it's snug, and once it's painted I would bet that you will be doing damage taking it on and off.

As long as you don't plan on taking the helmet on and off constantly. Like I said, it's tight. You might be able to dremel the inside out a little bit to make it fit better, but you will definitely have to heat it up some to get it over her head at all. And I'm sure that once the head is painted...

    StarWarsGeek custom casts

It does... but I had to heat up the helmet a little for it to stretch over her head. Which is kinda odd... that helmet fits over plenty of male heads with no issues. I guess her noggin is huge lol
