I really need that Quarrel if anyone can hook me up. :)
Sorry DH that's one I'm keeping.

6 figures I'm keeping Cover Girl, Grunt, Topside, Dice, TNT, Quarrel
6 I'm selling to others Jinx, Big Boa, Surefire, Barrel Roll, NanoBAT, Iron Klaw - already sold

I thought it was dumb I had to order the membership separately. Then go onto the FSS site to order that. Not only that but they had the FSS site linked to the Transformers Club membership. So if you needed a membership it took you to the wrong site!
I chose the 3 payments. Anyway I used virtual credit card numbers only good for one transaction. That will protect me from any fraud. However if they try to auto charge me for the next installment they will have problems. Hopefully when the next payment comes they will let me know & I will again give them another virtual credit card number. They've lost my trust in letting them have my regular cc number.

Just checked my account on the FSS site and my invoice is FINALLY there. Still haven't heard back from the Club on my 6 emails about it. Good to know that they really care about their customer. It's obvious once they have your money and personal info... they don't give a flying fuck about you.

I buckled, like an idiot. C'mon, you knew I was going to. Couldn't keep the ARAH Fag banner if I didn't!

I figured at worst, I can cancel my credit card as soon as I'm back from my trip next week and not have to worry about that crap. I paid up front so I didn't have to deal with the payments later.

A significant part of me hates myself now, though.

So so so disappointed. You gave them your money (and your credit card info!). Enjoy having a heavyset russian man named "peggy" ordering flat-screen tvs and czech hookers on your card...

Dob't miss out!

Was there any bitching that the server was set to the wrong time zone? These guys really are a fucking joke. Every time they do something it's so derpy. Sorry to see people will give them money.

Yeah, they actually did fuck up the time zone thing. Out of curiosity, I was watching the HT thread on it, and some guys tried to get past the captcha (theirs is terrible, btw) plus there were still password issues, and the timezone was set to the wrong one, so midnight CST was actually EST I think.

Regardless, it reeks of "just doin' it to get more suckers!" I guess it's good that they're doing it, but come on... They should've given a few days longer to begin with, not ending it at midnight after they were closed for a 3 day weekend.

I laugh that with the constant stupidity that place shows people willfully give them credit card numbers and personal information. Best of luck with the kit bashes.

Yeah, they'd have to give refunds...can you imagine the disaster THAT would be...OMG!!!

I really wish they'd just offer the figures individually and not force people to have to buy total sh!t to get what they want...

I understand that they need to get preorders due to the small-run nature of the project, but I agree, they should let people preorder on a figure by figure basis. I'd have done that (if I could have come up with a way to pay them securely). And if a figure doesn't sell a minimum number of preorders, then scrap that one figure. But making people buy $400 worth of crap just to get a couple of "good" figures just rubs me wrong.

Well, their initial logic didn't even make sense on it. They were originally saying crap about having different amounts of individual figures based on which ones tracked as more popular... Based off what criteria? If you can only order full sets, then how can you track interest in ANY individual figure? You can't, unless somehow you can track preorders of individual units, versus the whole set.

Sure, Cover Girl, Big Boa, and maybe 2-3 others will be higher in demand, but there's no way for them to gauge how many extras to make for non-subs. I'm assuming they'll do less than a hundred to few hundred individuals to sell extra on their site, if they do any at all.

Now, I'm not experienced with MattyCollector and all that ragefest, and the Club seems to be doing a few things right that MC doesn't, but not being able to order individual figures up front is fucking dumb and loses the extra lot of people who don't want to shell out for the full set when they only want a few.

Does it force some people to buy the entire set that they don't want to just get a few? Definitely, I'm one of those people. And if they want to extend this past this first FSS, then they need to reconsider preordering individuals next time in advance.

Well, MC does force people into buying full sets. They make no promises about any being available on the sale date. Based on some of the 2-minute sellouts, that seems to be true. So in that regard, the joe club has learned nothing from those guys.

I would assume that maybe a big retailer like BBTS that sells singles could feed them info on which ones are more popular, and in exchange, they might get a discount or something? I'm not sure if the club is on friendly cooperating terms with resellers.

mattycollector/digitalriver wrote the book on how to f@#$ up a subscription service, as well as how to have virtually every customer service problem imaginable. The indian-call-center-runaround was beyond excruciating. And the crashing webs sites, and the sellouts before your browser would even load the product page. And the coercion to buy the sub even though they wouldn't even tell you what figures were in it. Oh the humanity!

Then funpub decides that they won't let mattel get ahead of them, NO SIR, so they decide to have more f@#$ed up subscriptions with arguably worse customer service. But to do so, they're going to have to hire a large russian man named "peggy" to answer the phone. And maybe some monkeys to do the packing and shipping ;)

I agree!
I bet they did that just so Surefire gets made.

Yeah, I'm of the opinion that Barrel Roll is the only new-sculpt character worthy of deserving a 30th style figure... and the kitbash they did for him is horrendous. (Maybe I could make an argument for Cross Hair... because you can't have enough cool snipers, but beyond that, it's a stretch).

Surefire... :eyeroll:... maybe next year they'll make Dart and Red Spot... :p

I think there is a large percentage of paying members that have not yet ordered. They are hoping those members decided to buy the sub.
