Yeah, I'm of the opinion that Barrel Roll is the only new-sculpt character worthy of deserving a 30th style figure... and the kitbash they did for him is horrendous. (Maybe I could make an argument for Cross Hair... because you can't have enough cool snipers, but beyond that, it's a stretch).

Surefire... :eyeroll:... maybe next year they'll make Dart and Red Spot... :p

I don't mind Sure Fire, I like the vintage figure. What I really want to see is Bombstrike.

Just look at BBTS & you can see which figures are more popular & which will rot. (TnT)

Next year, I could see them adding the option to buy extras of certain figures if a sub was purchased. But with all their issues this year we will be lucky to see any of them.

I think my jab at the club went unnoticed.
http://www.yojoe.com/action/01/surefire.shtml
File name = David Lane the same one at the club

I would have liked him in a blue color theme. Then at least he could have matched 30th Law & Order.

I'm sure Bombstrike will be made. Probably a Black Out too. http://www.yojoe.com/action/03/blackout.shtml

The blue one doesn't look half bad. Or if they'd used better greens. Although Sure Fire is actually one of the more interesting "new" figures (post-94 "ARAH" figures... I don't count those TRU-forward repaints/retools as "ARAH" unless the character design existed in canon before the initial ARAH line ended, like the Oktober Guard or Big Lob, etc.) that I'm semi-interested in getting. Bombstrike/Blackout/Barrel Roll hold no interest to me, but if the figures look good enough, I'll add 'em to my Joe roster.

More than enough new characters have earned my respect and a place in my Joeverse: Para-Viper and the Bazooka-Trooper (RPG) blueshirt, Wraith, Jungle-Viper, Night Fox, Shadow Tracker, Helix, etc. For some reason, they feel more genuine than any new characters from the post-94 era.

they should have offered the sub at a discount per figure, then opened it up for individual figs for sale...people who really wanted all of them could have gotten the set, yet they could make more money per figure on the ones that were going to be in high demand...

"Discount" is where you would've lost the Club's attention with that.

Let's not forget the clubs obsession to "surprise" its members.
I think it is stupid for them to think any of us are going to keep quiet which figures we are getting.

Yeah, this isn't 1982. It's not like there's any suspense anymore, and for $30 a fucking figure, they need to let folks know exactly what they're getting if you ask me. The surprise thing isn't fun when you're talking figures that pricy.

If I were 5? Sure.

The suprise is due to the fact that they likely don't know what figures are coming in what order either...so instead of sounding like even bigger morons "uhhh, we don't know either...", they just went with a convenient excuse of "it'll be a surprise."...

But why the hell do they want everyone to keep their mouth shut?! Which figure comes in the mail isn't the same as a spoiler ending to a movie or comic.

Of course, we're also a little jaded (deservedly so mind you).... so anything that comes from the club is met with a raised eyebrow. But they earned it.

The funny part is that they actually think we get excited like kids on christmas when the funpub box shows up. But it's nothing like christmas. It's more a mixture of fear over shipping destruction and remorse for having spent that kind of money for such a crappy product.

Fear and Remorse. Fearmorse.

I think that's all part of making up one lie to cover up another...

Just part of making the "suprise" story more plausible...

They like surprizes.

Wow my big Boa looks just like TNT, I'm so glad I ordered 2 of them on BBTS. :^)

Wow I just recieved someone's Transformer sub.

Wow there was a revolt in China, & the factory is shut down with the molds destroyed. No Refunds.

The club never existed, It was always just a blip of the Matrix

This would be funny if it hadn't actually happened already.

Anyone recall "Tanks for the Memories" (or as I like to call it, "Bend Over '07")? Yeah, they took everyone's money for the tanks and drivers, stalled for months, and then declared that the molds broke. There would be no tanks, no refunds, and the club would decide how much of the money you paid would be kept for the driver alone. And to no one's surprise, they amount they kept was substantial.

^ I did not know about that. Why was that not bitched about more? Because the 25th hadn't really kicked off and dragged all us dimwits back in yet?

Oh yes there was a huge uproar then. They blamed it on the factory that was making them. It was in the U.S. too.
I'm sure it was going to cost them more than they were willing to spend. So they just made up that story.

And you'd think that would had been enough to convince the lion's share of Joe collectors to 86 supporting the club, but, no.

Geeze, no kidding!...I never knew about this either...how did the club not cease to exist at that point...and how is it even legal to do what they did?!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

This is going out to everyone who subscribed to the GI Joe Collectors' Club Figure Subscription Service.

If any of you have moved since you placed your subscription order it's time for you to update your new address!

Please click here to log in and check your account!

We are anticipating that the first two figure shipment will ship before Christmas so that means you have until December 2nd to update your address. After that date, we do not guarantee that your shipment will go the correct address.

In order to get all of the orders out the door in one week, we need to start the printing and prep for all of the orders we received starting on December 3rd.

Provided that our shipment from China is not delayed, we are working on getting all orders out the door before Christmas. We will hopefully start sending them out the week before Christmas.

For those of you who have purchased on the installment plan, we anticipate that the second billing will take place in mid-January so we will give you updates as soon as we know the final schedule.

Thanks for all of your support and we hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season!

Brian

PS. If you have any questions, you can use the link at the bottom of the log in page to contact customer service.

Hoping to see an Iceberg proto, and to see that he looks like a$$...save me (MR :D) a headache

I'm actually surprised we haven't seen an Iceberg pic yet... Maybe that FSS got them backed up. But they should've shown something by now. Last year we got Footloose pics in August or September, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, I'm betting the sub is really REALLY messing them up...I mean, it's the club...picture a room full of chimps running around like crazy, hooting and screaming and throwing poo, typing on computers, chewing on Joes...that's the club..

I thought Dial-Tone was mediocre at best. Even the carded one was sort of cheap-looking, but I think Footloose was pretty solid, all things considered. The head sculpt doesn't look much like what I want when I think of Footloose, but it was expected after seeing the Claymore head. The new arms were really unexpected. I can't give them shit for it though, Footloose was a HUGE improvement over Dial-Tone.

I just hope the FSS (which besides Cover Girl and Big Boa are mediocre at best) doesn't reduce the effort/quality put into Iceberg.

I've been wanting an Iceberg and Frostbite for a long time...BUT, I don't expect them to do a good job, and I don't want to finally see the official version turn out to be sh!tty...it'd be just as bad Dial-Tone...the one I (and every other customizer) made was WAY but its not the official one...If they're gonna do a crap job, I'd rather them not do it at all...

I almost don't want them to EVER do Frostbite...you KNOW 100% they'll f*@# him up...that fur collar will either get the ax completely or they'll use the Snow Serpent collar fur...both I have no interest in...

Really, if they aren't gonna do them right, I don't want them to do them at all...did I say that already?

But then, like you said, they did awesome on FL...Zarana was perfect...USA Sarge was sweet...

I don't know...their track record is like 25% good...those are bad odds especially with unique molding required...

The Club didn't do Sarge or Zarana. Don't give them credit for that. ;)

Footloose and Big Boa have the most new parts of any ME figure they've released to date, that I'm aware of. Boa has either a new head or a retooled ARAH head, with unused gear from a cancelled ROC Duke and completely-new webgear. Footloose (if you count the helmet and head) has new lower arms that were used on Kwinn, but came out first on Footloose. So technically, they're new parts, or at least originated/debuted through the Club.

Dial-Tone even had the vintage backpack retooled for the ME figure and a new head.

Frostbite and Iceberg can both be created with existing parts so long as new heads and webgear/collars are created. I couldn't give a shit about their ARAH weapons being remade faithfully. Just give them cool rifles and a pistol. Considering that a head and helmet/hat and backpack/webgear has been done for several figures so far, I have faith that Iceberg won't suck.

I hope they don't prove me wrong.

You make good points, but their track record isn't in our favor...though FL was their last outting...maybe they will continue to step up their game to get new memberships...

Thanks for reminding me about Kwinn you d!ck...now I iz sad :(

Cover Girl needs a few green highlights on her, but I don't think Big Boa could've been any better, coming directly from Hasbro and put out at retail. It's a shame CG has that odd hair color, but she's pretty good looking too, all things considered. I'll be happy to finally have both in my possession! ;)
