I would def be on board for that...she aerobic like a$$ kicking skills in Cap 2 (and Ironman 2) were show stealers for me...

I'd love to see her in a spy film, like 007, Borne Columbiana or Salt...something that might feel even less like a comic book movie than Cap 2 did...

It's probably too hard to do now but I always thought a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie starring her would have been great. Have Fury and Hawkeye has secondary roles to help carry the movie.

I guess they could do it as a prequel but if they're going to try and do a prequel than they might as well go farther back when she was a KGB agent.

I'd love to see secondary roles go to someone like, Hill or even someone who hasn't been introduced yet...

So, anyone then?

This made me laugh :lmao:

I'm speculating that the higher ups are gun shy for the same reason that Toy companies hesitate making Female Action Figures. They don't think it will generate enough revenue.

With that in mind, a Black Widow movie would have to add another attraction to it. One or Two more heroes in the movie to help generate buzz. It may even be so simple as given it a generic name instead of "Black Widow" or whatever.

That's my theory. For the record I'm not hating on women here, I think Marvel will have the same issue when they go to make another Hulk movie.

I Can't wait for Lucy. Previews for that look awesome. Disney made it so maybe its a trial run to see what kind of audience she brings solo. If it does well, maybe a Widow movie could happen.

I'm thinking the success of the Hunger Games films, with a female lead, are helping more female driven movies to be considered...

And yeah, Lucy looks fantastic!

I wish we'd seen more of DumDum Dugan. I also happen to like Neal McDonough, and think he's kind of funny. Is he slated to appear in the Agent Carter series?

I think Black Widow would do ok on her own (without being tied to a core Avenger flick, that is), but not as a solo film directly about her. Even Widow & Hawkeye may not be enough pull.

If it had a good enough script, then things could change. But other solo lady-hero films like Catwoman and Elektra were plain fucking trash.

I wanted McDonough to play Abraham in Walking Dead.

I guess another BoB alum works.

Cool I guess...I'll be honest, I'm kinda indifferent to a Peggy show...I kinda think most people may feel the same, and the bean counters will use the shows low numbers to squash other female solo shows/films...Black Widow for instance...

Yea most likely. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a short series like 4-13 episodes and maybe even on Netflix or a streaming service.

I was going back through looking for some talk about the "All Hail the King" short which throws a really big bad hat into the ring, and IF they do Mandarin right this time I think it'll be awesome! Then I saw all of this talk about Hulk not being able to have a good movie.

They just can't seem to get Hulk right, and you'd think he'd be a simpler one to tackle. It's like Hulk and Superman both can't get a great standalone film because they're so simple, yet impossible to nail. I actually really enjoyed the Norton Hulk, but there was something lacking about it still. I didn't actually get to see Hulk Smash! as much as he should've.

He was the highlight of Avengers for me, seeing him go all-out finally. I want to see that in a standalone film, with the Leader. I can't believe they keep back-burnering him like that, though.

It's cuz Banner is boring and Hulk can't "talk".

I think they need to add a secondary hero in the next Hulk movie if it happens to help move the story. Just like how BW helped in IM2 and in Cap 2. Throw in a heavy shield presence and it can work.

This. This all the way. I like the Hulk as is, but he's a shitty character to have in a movie. Make a smart Hulk movie and we'll talk. But people will complain too.

Also, there are no future Iron Man movies planned for now. Just appearances in Avengers movies as needed.

It wasn't fun or destructive enough for the character...I liked Norton too, but the movie was kinda boring, somehow...

I think the biggest problem is it's hard to find a villain for either Hulk or Superman to fight...it's hard to find a good counter to either of them since they are both almost indestructible...

Too bad a Hulk movie couldn't be rated R so we could see him REALLY brutalize some baddies...

I don't want to see Superman destroy a city, he should know better...but the Hulk, yeah, I wanna see him truly f*%# some stuff up...but he's supposed to be a hero, soooo...yeah, I can see how he'd be hard to write him AND make fun...

I think that IF they made a Planet Hulk movie, and it showed an internal dialog type thing like they did in the Avengers: EMH cartoon where Hulk, and Banner make peace w/ one, and other to survive on Sakarr then they could explain Hulk getting smarter like he was in Planet, and World War Hulk (though in all actuality Planet Hulk had "Banner Hulk" at first), and then they made amends, so that the more destructive "Savage Hulk" could do what had to be done w/ Banner's more strategic mind helping to "aim" him so to speak.

I think a Planet Hulk is definitely the way to go. It's going to be tough to pull off though cuz it will be 99% CGI and will need a big ass budget.

I also think it will be a great "final" Hulk movie and a way to "write him out" of the Universe. I would like to see a Hulk 2 movie in Phase 3 continuing the Leader story. Then after A3 do a Hulk 3: Planet Hulk for Phase 4.

With Phase 4 culminating in Avengers 4: World War Hulk. That would be an AWESOME way to end the current line of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and then they could restart w/ a whole new MCU. I loved both the Planet, and World War Hulk story lines. The actual personality that they portrayed the Hulk with in those story lines was phenomenal. If Whedon, and Feige can see past "Hulk SMASH!", and actually see the potential that Hulk actually has as a character in a Planet, and World War Hulk type story then I'm sure they'll be able to pull it off. I think that the success, or failure of the GotG movie will be a big determining factor in whether, or not they want to try to do a Planet Hulk movie in the MCU.

So IF this is where they're going then the MCU chapters should read like this:
Phase 1: Avengers Assemble
Phase 2: Fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., Rise of Ultron
Phase 3: Infinity War
Phase 4: Planet/ World War Hulk. Maybe having the Superhuman civil war during the same arch among the other films.

Regardless of whether I'm right or not I'm going to sit back, and enjoy the show.

I don't think you're too far off. Phase 1 and 2 are just about done. Of course a lot could happen in A2 yet.

Phase 3 seems like it's heading to the Infinity War.

I was just thinking that IF they could get the Spidey characters back then Phase 5 could be Secret Invasion ending w/ Norman killing the Skrull Queen, and getting a Presidential pardon, and control of the new SHIELD, and then Phase 6 could be Dark Reign. I really think that Dark Reign would be an AWESOME series of movies.

I don't see Sony ever giving up on Spiderman. Just like Superman, it can be a shitty movie and still do big numbers. Marvel studios could offer them a billion $ I best they still wouldn't give up on him. Same with Fox and the X-Men. They have way too many opportunities with the X-Men. They have only scratched the surface with the spin offs and I'm sure after this Days/future movie and it's sequel, they'll do a proper reboot and and recast.

Marvel Studios might get the FF franchise back. We've talked about this in the thread before but Fox almost gave up on FF. In the final hours they put something together quick. Of course right now the FF reboot hasn't gone very well. It's still very very early though.

In case you don't know, the franchises are tied to projects. So each movie franchise must be in development after so many years after the latest release. If they aren't, the rights go back to Marvel to distribute how they wish. Which of course would be to Marvel Studios. That's how they got the rights back to Daredevil. Pre-Production counts, so all they need to do is have a script and a few cast members and they are safe. That's in the contract so a movie studio can't just sit on a franchise for 3 decades and never put anything out.

Wasn't there also a stipulation on the number of years they could have the contract before they had to renew the contract, and if Marvel decides that they want the rights back they just don't sign it back to the other company?

Me too. One beyond any type of Origin story. Just Hulk Smash with a story. F'n shame they couldn't have Wolverine and him battle in a movie.

I was thinking about this the other day. Why couldn't they loan characters? Too much pride? It's not like Marvel is going to release movies that compete against their own brand.

I finally saw Cap and thought it was good. I like how they made Falcon into a great character. Almost the opposite of how I feel about Rhodey, as far as black sidekicks who can't get their own movie goes.

Only thing I hate, and there's nothing that can be done about it, is who the Winter Soldier is. Such a bad soap opera and sadly it comes from a good writer.

I shit you not, at the end of the movie, my friend asked me "How come War Machine didn't use his suit in this movie?"

I laughed for like 5 minutes straight and had to tell him all black people are not the same.
