Here are some pics of a WIP Croc Master. I was never a big fan of him but then I had an idea to tweak him a bit to match my more modern military style universe. So I am going with more of a tracker, recon, survive in the wild antagonist to Spirit, Outback, Recondo, etc.

With that in mind I have created a custom pack with lots of equipment (axe, sword, walking stick, shotgun, etc). I also bulked him up quite a bit by going with a bigger body. Last I am not planning on using all that much "scales" since my customs are a bit more reality based. Anyway, here is unpainted.

So those static dollar store wrestling figures ARE compatible with Joe bodies.

Got my Rockblock's machine gun able to feed from a chute, a belt or an ammo box. No wrestling with adding a bipod or not.

Dollar General, again. Kane, Cena, Sheamus, The Rock, Orton, Rey Mysterio and CM Punk.

6 bucks for a head sculpt is steep, though.

As best as I can find, about a week or so?

There was a thread on them on some wrestling forum, by way of JoeCustoms.

Painted up and everything? The cheapest casters charge roughly $4-6 per head, and then you gotta pay to ship it and then paint the fucker. $6 is a steal!

Stole the words right out of my mouth. I would love for a caster to get them in their stores, I just hate how some charge $6 for a repo head. I can see for casts of convention exclusive heads here and there, or custom sculpted heads. But if someone has these in their store and asks $6 a head, I'll pass and get one at DG and save the frustration of painting the eyes, lol.

I got a second one to make a "Sad Keanu Reeves" custom too.

Well, you do have to cut it off the figure and drill it for Joe use.

The Rock head sculpt looks fairly sad (as in the emotion). I wouldn't put it ahead of either of the two Hasbro gave us.

Sure, if your store doesn't have any Joes, grab one. I probably will.

Speaking of heads, any ideas for a Charlie Chaplin?

Trying to make a better Flint. The 25th arms are killing me.

Anybody have the Flint head from the HoH or 5 pack? They seem to match the skin tone I'm using for the arms. (Bruce Willis arms)

I saw them today and it looked to me that at least a couple had heads just like Joes, mounted on a ball...

I had a couple in my hand today just for the heads...but the $6 for a head AND the fact I'm trying to stop this fodder madness I've come down with stopped me...

Also had a Duke but put him back for the same reasons...I really went in to see if they had any black troopers to help you interested fellows out...no luck

The way I read it they're very much like the old LJN figures, with no articulation at all. If they have a neck ball they go up a bit in my estimation.

They have two points of articulation. Ball (not really, more a peg) jointed head and swivel waist. That's it.

They have a real tall neck peg (at least punk did). Which worked perfectly with Duke's long neck/double ball joint. I just heated the punk up with a hair dryer for a good 2 mins, then popped it off and popped it on. No dremeling needed (for the body I used).

Your custom is the reason I almost picked that head up...I think that head would look great on one of Ricks customs...

This is something I'm working on using my skin decal method. Instead of making a decal, I layer up the acrylic medium mixed with my base color until i have a material that's 3-4x thicker than the skin decal.

It's what I'm using for my Chuckles custom.

Bingo! Something I've neglected, but in my defense... I just recently aquired a Blackhawk and Little Bird. Definitely want some crew members, so this is a good start, imo.

I think it is.

Now, if I could have a eureka moment and come up with a recipe for a pre '80s rotary wing pilots I'd be set.

Uhm, damn. I'm feeling so inadequate :/

Don't you dare. If you like what I'm doing with this stuff, use it as inspiration.

I still have no real idea what I'm doing in the realm of true sculpting, but I got off my butt and am trying to do something with it. Now... you need to do the same. :proposetoast:

Haha I'm planning on it. Right now I'm trying to develop a way of 100% preventing paint chip. And developing decent camouflage patterns.

Soon though ;)
