Because iGear was smart enough to fix the damn tail fins so that they hang off the legs, balancing out the figure, instead of hanging off the hip like some sort of samurai sword kibble.

is that really the only difference?...aside from that fix, they are identicle?...IMO, he looks way better and its hard for me to believe its only due to the fin placement...

i don't have any of the seekers yet, but if TC is the regular Tak size, i may just pick him up...he was always my fave for reasons unknown to me...

The Takara TC has much more realistic paint apps than the iGear one. (The iGear thus one appears much flatter.) So the Takara one has a lot more color apps. Which in theory sounds nice, but it makes it look busier. I really liked Masterpiece Skywarp from Takara, but the Wal-Mart version is pretty nice too. The main difference (besides the box) is that the WM version has less detailing, a slightly different color scheme, but extra wing artwork, and the head is the same as Starscream (Takara one has a "grimace" alternate face, not a smirk). I really would like to make a hybrid of the two, as I do like the subtle detailing on the Takara version, but the WM wing stripes really make him iconic (and I hate the stickers on the Tak version... they don't cut it).

Who knows when we'll see a US TC.

The laziest thing that Wal-Mart did was not painting the missile launchers in the "boobs" of the Seekers. So lazy. Also, I think the rotors may not be painted. I can't remember...

See the difference? While the Takara one looks more expensive and nicer, the US one's wing stripes win me over. I do like the head of the Japanese one. Since I have both, I guess I could make a hybrid one eventually?

after looking at the pics you posted, i know why i think he's better...

it's his color...it looks more cartoon-y, and i like that...also the flat finish is appealing to me...like you said, the less busy look is refreshing

how do you guys feel about the chest wing on Devy?...i've heard tons of complaining about its size...most think its too small...personally, i think its just right...i actually think the original was too big...and if they make/made the TFC one any larger, it'd restrict arm movement...

Looks like they're doing Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker, with the fixed legs. if I didn't already have the Takara/Hasbro versions, I'd get these guys. They look better all around, plus they have the fixed tail-fin issue.

Eh, I would be happy if they were at least Alternator-scale. They need to be smaller than Prime-scale or Grimlock, so I'm going to count Rodimus in that. I am liking that new Prime more and more that I see him, but I just can't justify getting him when MP-04 with the add-on Roller kit I bought is perfect as-is.

Well, if the new MP prime is about the same height as MP starscream, 7" would put Ironhide and Ratchet at about the right proportion to them and rodimus and grimlock. They're certainly too big to be displayed with classics. I'm perfectly ok with the size of these.

I'm thinking of Rodimus, i.e. post transformation into leader-class status. If he was Hotrod, I'd expect him to be a bit smaller. But since they call him Rodimus, he transforms into a thing with a trailer, and he's the same height as the upcoming Optimus MP10, I expect both to be larger than most regular autobots. But that's just me.

Well rodimus prime was a futuristic truck, and the new MP rodimus comes with a big trailer, so I associate him with the leader-class incarnation, not the smart mouthed sports car.
