I've seen this on smalljoes for I think $140 or so. After watching that, I'm tempted, burgundy I doubt it.
The cost is why I haven't picked that ^^^ up...the size of hasbro vehicles is why I won't pic theirs up...

Well it looks like any number of medium lift helicopters out there, they just slapped that unnecessary main on the back end there to get a CH-46/47/H-21 vibe out of it.
This isn't to say it wasn't a Tier 1 toy back then, and quite honestly if there was no proper 1:18 scale stuff out there to color my view on things, or I was just a kid and wanted a toy helo for my Joes it would STILL be the gold standard.

Just saw the other "special ops" listings at HT. There's no way that thing is even a Joe-scale vehicle.

I thought they showed a THawk Kreo set last year anyways. I wonder if this will include a helipad or something to pad the cost.
The reason is a reissue of a THawk would probably be in the Skystriker price range. A Kreo THawk would be a little less unless its apart of a set. Hasbro has used Tomahawk for a couple different things. The Ghosthawk's pilot, sometimes Gen. Hawk has been referred to as Tomahawk, along with the helicopter. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a repack of a Kreo battleship. They are making a GI Joe USS Missouri after all.

I can see them reverse-engineering it, or building a new one from a semi-reverse-engineering of old samples. That's how they made the Skystriker, and updated it for the ME version. And the price point? Could be a loss-leader, although that doesn't make much sense considering the "success" (or lack thereof) of the Skystrikers. Joe fans bitch and bitch, but the Skystriker was TOTALLY "throwing them a bone". That was never destined to make "the sells" that the fans committed to up front. I'm actually one who bought two at full retail, even though I only opened one.
Although, I'd have expected to see the Dragonfly first simply due to the size, but I'd happily take the Tomahawk. Granted, this is all fanboy wankage and I won't really get excited until I see pics at Toy Fair or anything official from Hasbro.
But it's fun to discuss it. I'll take any vintage Joe retools from the earlier years. So far, they've stuck to mostly the "realistic" vehicles, and kept away from the more silly ones like the POGO, etc. Despite being a bit larger than the realm of vehicles I expected to see redone, the Tomahawk is a "Realistic" vehicle compared to some of the sillier stuff out there. And definitely an iconic one.
