Had been wanting to do a head swap on the TVC Navy Commander, though they are a troop builder,in the movies they are not clones so the figure having the same face/head was something I wanted to alter.

Experimented with a few and found that the TVC Colonel Cracken head fitted on pretty well.

Here's some pix:

Pic of the two figures side by side:

I may have to find that Commander. Might be a use for that head sculpt here.

Yeah, the Retro Cardback figures have pretty much vaporized in my AO.

Well, except for those lame pre-quel figures that seem to collect dust on every shelf I see them on.

I wish I could find more figure! Weren't there supposed to be "filler" waves till the new line?

Have you tried Rebel Fleet trooper heads or Retaliation Joe Trooper?

I did try the RFT and it's a good fit too but I don't have a Ret Joe Trooper figure to try that with but do have some more of the AT-ST Crew figures coming soon so will try them too.

After they announced new figures would get the five point gimp to their articulation, I'd imagine it would be just as well to walk into that booth in every vebdors mall that has the older action figures and just buy those for a few dollars each. God knows there is an infinite amount of POTF crap piled up in every flea market of america.

The 5 POA figures will be in a different line that is along the lines of the recent IM3, Batman, and Spidey figures. The Black Series will pick up the slack of the Vintage Collection and continue with the standard articulation as it currently is.

Some figures have gotten some improvements in articulation. Deleted scenes Luke is amazing! Star Wars has always been about the look and detail compared to crazy articulation, IMO.

This.

Not every character in the SW lineup has to have Joe articulation.

Seems like it'd make more sense to standardize it somewhat. But I guess if it sells..

It is hit or miss on most figures. The new Clone mold has full articulation, which is fine...but does someone like Lando, or Leia really need all that too? not really.

Luke, depending on the version, should. Han doesn't even need it all. Prequel Jedi should have it all though.

It's the same thing there doing with Joe right now. In other news I may be getting two more TVC Navy troopers! Just need one more for my goal of six!

How so? The first wave of Retaliation was a fluke. They said that along with future vehicle drivers, figures will be the articulation we're accustom to from now on.

They've been doing that all along, though - early Joe figures sometimes had a kneecap, sometimes didn't. Some have the new wrists or ankles, some don't. It's not a dramatic difference, but it's been there.

Why would you NOT want articulation on anything? I guess if you just want a static pose.. but there are other scales and products to get those results.

From what I remember of the movies, Lando and Leia and Han all had 'action sequences' where they were running and gunning.. so why should they be deprived the ability to 'take a knee' and/or all the other poses that are available to clones etc.

It'd be like saying, well.. Destro, Baroness and CC don't need articulation, but the Ninjas and troopers should get it.

What frogger said. I think we also got spoiled by that awesome line, know as P.o.C.

I like to display my figures in more dramatic poses instead of a static zombie pose. Regardless of figure with the added articulation the value is greater for me since I can mix up a display or diorama by just the one figure and present it in a more realistic scene and repose it later for added effect. Sure because of the added articulation price does (and should go up) since more tooling, molds and increased assembly time are involved. I can see why a company might reduce the articulation to reduce cost but as a result I lose interest because of the way I like to display my figures.

I haven't gotten any star wars in a while. But I will pick one or two up if I truly am impressed with them.

Last time X wing was a target exclusive for $60
TRU will bump that up to $85

FOOOOOCK! & I wanted an Xwing. (Just not at that price)

Nah, it won't be that bad. The target one had a figure and a window box (although I never understood it's price even then). Plus, the TRU trench run set with two figs and two vehicles was only $100 and routinely sold on sale for $79.

The MSRP on the Y-wing and B-wing were just $40, so at most the pilot-less x-wing will be $50. There's no way they can push the price up there with the BAT-AT.
