No trailer which is why I bought him. I got him and Sideswipe shipped for the same price of the reissue in November and do not have to worry about where to store a stupid trailer. Lambo > trailer. They seem to sell the KO's for 50% of official prices.

Here is the new review on version 2:

Can't wait. My KOs finally hit the mainland so I should have them in hand soon. I can't take great pics, but if anyone wants me to get a few pictures of them, just let me know, and which ones you want me to focus on.

I want to know if Smokescreen is as good as a hastak prowl. He's the last one I am considering since his mold has a few tweaks. The review makes his face look wonky and I do not really trust mr robot army since he is obviously getting free shit to pimp tf-direct.

Well I don't have Hastak Prowl but I'll try and take some decent pictures and give my thoughts on him, and you can draw your conclusions from that.

Looking back at the animation model, Smokescreen kind of has a wonky face/head to begin with. I'll have to draw some comparisons to that.

Noticed something new. The elbow joints were installed backwards (holes on outside) on both arms, so screwdriver will be required to spin them around.

I think it's awesome.

At TFW, the thread on him has devolved into rivet-counting, hate-spewing, back-and-forth... much the same way the Daca Kronos thread did. There is a substantial "Epic Fail if the engine isn't chromed" crowd. A month ago, there was not even a hint of a MP sunstreaker, and now it's garbage if every detail isn't to every entitled manchild's liking. WTF.

Yeah, the bot mode is taller than Swipe, but somewhere in the thread, they showed model sheets where he was supposed to be just a tick taller... so I guess that makes it ok/accurate? I don't care. As long as he's somewhere between Bumblebee and Prime, I'm good.

It seems like ANY MP discussion in ANY thread there devolves into bickering...I hate when MP take gets brought up there...what is and what isn't MP? :whatever:

Yes, that MP "Not Sunsteaker" does look razor sharp.

Hopefully, as everyone agrees, he won't be over 100 dollars.

I am still blown away at the sharpness of "Not Shockwave" that I ordered.

He's as Masterpiece of a Sunstreaker as we're gonna see, until Takara produces one.

I think shit like iGear's Ratchet/Ironhide are somewhere between CHUG and MP, the same as Hercules. But others, like iGear's Coneheads and FT's Dinobots and Shockwave, stand toe-to-toe with the official stuff and just help to fill out the ranks. Hell, I personally think that Takara should just license out the property and let them be official. They license out the brand for much sillier shit, like a Mickey Mouse Optimus Prime and other silly things. It's going to take Takara forever to finish S1/S2, so they need all the help they can get.

I just hope they don't end up doing doubles too often, so that at least we're getting different characters from the 3P guys and the official series.

Sweet! I'm really trying to be disciplined and space the purchases out. TT Wheeljack is calling my name.

Without taking any pictures yet, I CAN tell you that the slight tweaks to turn him from Streak/Prowl to Smokescreen don't affect anything negatively. The head looks a bit Frankenstein, but then I always felt he looked that way. I have to say I'm pleased with the KO plastic quality. Nothing feels brittle or loose. To get the "tires on top" shoulder, I believe they added another joint for transformation, but it doesn't look out of place.

Other things of note: It appears the KO company fixed the difference between KO Sideswipe and the TT version's heads. The ridge is smaller and the 'ears' have also been shortened a little.

My KO Prowl came with a strange extra screw that looks like it stripped free from somewhere, but no screws are missing.

Both Red Alert and Sideswipe required a bit of surgery to get the bumper-hood-chest to tab into place, but not much.

Tigertrack and Red Alert's heads don't close completely, but it's minor and something I can probably fix later on.

i know Takara likes to get the most use from the molds and make the characters that use molds mutable times produced...but i think itd be nice if they would space the "doubles" out...maybe stick a new mold figure in between the mold reuse figures...

Yeah, I got my KO Swipe this week, and I haven't modded the chest yet, but that's on my to-do list. It occurred to me, it appears that the slot in the chest and the slot in the fists may have been swapped in design/production. The weapon slot in the fists are way too big for the tab on the gun (making it loose and not held tight), while the slot in the chest is way too small for the tab under the hood (thus requiring "surgery"). Those are the only two flaws in my KO, and I decided they were probably related. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the figure though.

Speaking of the chest surgery, did you increase the size of the slot or trim the tab?

I opened up the slot a bit. I figured it would probably be the easier of the two. All it required was a bit of shaving with the xacto. Still haven't messed with Tigertrack or Red Alert's head problems yet. But they close -enough- that it's not a huge deal.

I made the chest hole bigger to keep the tab thick and strong. (yes, that's a bone for Eddie.)

Why does SS's head open up? It's not needed for transformation.

Is it true Takara's SS also has wobbly gun syndrome?

KO Prime is beautiful, but is not on the same level of production quality as SS. Worth the $ to me since I do not have a real MP-10.

So yeah, I dunno. I can turn his head (Red Alert, SS, Tigertrack) backwards, and it stays closed, but the alt mode ends up a bit wonky like the tabs are stressed. Facing forwards, soon as I lift the hood back into position, the head opens for transformation. *shrugs* Not a huge deal, they'll be in bot mode pretty much permanently so I might glue the heads closed.

On another note, haven't taken pics of SS yet. I'll try and make some time for that today. Also, I bought X Transbots Krank and Stax to join my growing Masterpiece shelf.

This...

...plus this...

So which figure should I use as a base figure? Prowl or Bluestreak? My concern is the thigh, abdomen and hand colors...I'm not sure which I'd prefer...the body will be silver of course...

If Prowl had silver hands, I think I'd go with him...so I guess what I should ask is, do you guys think the red thighs/abdomen will look okay?

Yeah, the white hands...I don't know...and all those joints, I'm not painting that...

Also, I doubt I'll care enough to do the work/engineering to make it transform...I've seen that before, and it never looks that good IMO...
