Yeah, with the way Hasbro re-tooled the Cobra Water Moccasin, GI Joe Skystriker, Big Millennium Falcon and Luke's X-Wing Fighter, I am hopeful they will eventually re-tool the Shuttle. Would also be great to see a re-tooled Y-Wing, but I am still impressed with the 2 Seater + Droid Y-Wing Bomber.

PS.... I hacked off those flimsy, awkward twin-cannons protruding out of the Y-Wing Bomber's nose and it looks much better that way.

Well everywhere else is a scam then man.

It's bad enough that the price of the figures has wildly increased. but then there's the fact that Hasbro is not enforcing any quality control at all. Every other review on Banthaskull for these newer figures is forced to talk about how the paint is just slopped on the figures with no regard for how it should actually look. Then there's the problem of articulation. They still use t-crotches. Between the paint and the t-crotches, there's no way a collector can justify paying full price for these things!

Hasbro needs to start producing these things at their former quality while also strong arming the retailers to sell the products at a reasonable price.

For me at least, Hell itself will freeze over before I'll pay $10 for just one figure, when I can look over four feet at Walmart and see another "Corps" figure, using the same amount of plastic, for $2.00 ?.

If we don't vote with our wallets, this isn't going to change any time soon. And from what I've seen working retail, these expensive figures aren't selling well. They're just becoming peg warmers.

A full scale X-Wing that you can't put figures in, and the wings don't open up?, A full scale Falcon that doesn't do anything ?.

New "Rebels" figures that have the same articulation/painting that we had back in the 70's?, compared to what we have now?.

Yeah, I see an "epic fail" on the horizon, in regards to Star Wars. I just can't imagine what exactly they're thinking now. Two steps forward, and three steps back. $10 dollars or more for Chinese slave wage figures, made for pennies on the dollar?.

No thank you.

I'll just wait until they hit the clearance "red tag" prices.

Eventually, they will learn. Just not at my expense.

Thank you kind sir.

A full scale X-Wing that you can't put figures in, and the wings don't open up?, A full scale Falcon that doesn't do anything ?.

This issue truly baffles me the most. They're not even "toys" so to speak, actually more like plastic "statues". I don't get it. What's even the point of them ? I was baffled by this as kid in the 70's when the first figures came out. You couldn't make them sit down right, and it sucked that you couldn't move the arms besides up and down.

And they can't say it couldn't be done at that time; the Micronauts came out during the same time, and you could get those 'lil guys to do most anything, and they looked cool as Hell. And they were almost all interchangeable.

These toy companies totally confuse me sometimes. The new Star Wars "Rebels" line is awful., and based by what I saw at Wal Mart the other night, they're not selling. Every peg was full. During Christmas time ?. That alone to me speaks volumes. But I think the prequels ruined a lot of things for Star Wars, especially for us collectors.

Absolutely not one G.I. Joe anything. That just makes me have a sad.
But then again as we said before, I'm quite sure that selling them at $10 bucks each didn't help the line. I know I passed on them. All the Avengers figures selling at that price were full pegs also. Money is tight right now for everyone, so I guess the parents are passing on them also.

For ten bucks now, I'd only buy some of the Doctor Who figs (I gotta have a Dalek, LOL!), and maybe that 'lil Sam figure from Trick or Treat, or the Alien, from that new retro line. I could spend ten bucks for one figure, or spend ten bucks on a PTE vehicle with figures, and accessories.
That choice isn't hard for me to make.

Which is a damned shame.

I never thought I'd see the day that buying ten 'lil plastic action figures would cost over $100.00. :(

I find it amusing that the figures you say would be worth $10 to you seem to be some of the ones that have the least amount of value per figure other than character selection. Out of all of those though I found the PTE vehicle/figure combo to be the least interesting even if you do get more those figures are not good for much.

Using an inflation calculator $6 in 1995 (when i really started collecting and Star Wars came back) is valued at just under $10 so the price really hasn't changed much.

I think the biggest problem Hasbro the last few years was facing was they lacked new character selection. That has been the main reason I started spending my money on almost everything but Star Wars. I mean how many Darth Vaders and Luke Skywalkers does one person need?

Since the purchase from Disney I'm pretty sure that will breathe the life back into the Star Wars action figures, at least for me. I really like the Rebel figures. I don't see the 5 POA being the final iteration of these characters and they will probably see a more detailed sculpt and articulation scheme in the more collector focused lines. I have yet to see any of the actual characters of the Rebels cartoon peg warm as of yet but there are plenty of the OT/PT figures in the Rebels packaging hanging around.

I don't really see them getting any better than what the Vintage or Black series has to offer.

They tried the double elbow with Luke and that turned out terrible. I don't see them changing their formula, for the better, unless someone else takes over.

Well, like all things it's subjective personal taste. All the figures, vehicles, and accessories are for my Toy theater project for my gaming Clan, and a lot of the members there are huge Dr. Who fans, so having a Dalek in my cartoons chasing them around would be great fun for them. I've got to get the weeping angel set.

My choice for the PTE series is because almost all our members either on the PS4 or XBox play Battlefield3/4; and the PTE vehicles more closely match the vehicles used in those games.

And my wife adores 'lil Sam from "Trick or Treat", so I'd have to get one for her. Yeah, I agree, the "Aliens" alien does look like crap, but I think it'd be humorous just having him hanging around in our bar having drinks with all the Star Wars aliens and our Clan members. I've got scale Mr. Bill, Gumby, Domo's, Thundercats, and so on. So just having an "Alien" also would be classic geek. Kinda like Morn on Deep Space Nine.

So now you know. And knowing is half the battle !!! ;) Coooobra !!!!

That is the number one reason I stopped buying Star Wars figures.

For the very life of me, I cannot grasp just why they stopped making those wonderful playsets that they had in the 70' and 80's. My vintage Death Star is the focal piece in my entire Star Wars collection. They had the Cantina, The Sandcrawler playset, the droid factory, and I think a few more. Now except for Lego and the PTE series, no company makes playsets hardly. I did pick up a wonderful pirate cove playset at TRU though, and I think they have a few others also. So many sets of the sets I have for my Toy Theater, I've had to make or build outright.

Are 5-POA figures really any better? They are just as likely to be purchased by me, i.e. 0.0% chance.

Nope, they're not.

Best of all, we get to stare at these shelfwarmers for a full three months before the film drops.

Guess i should have read the story posted... Those multi-packs look like crap. I don't see them selling too well.

I assumed it was was also about the E7 figures, which I hope are not 5 POA.

Star Wars 7 3.75 In Figure Assortment
Star Wars 7 3.75 In Armor Figure Assortment
Star Wars 7 Figure Two Pack Assortment
Star Wars 7 Figures Snow Desert
Star Wars 7 Hero Series Deluxe Figure Assortment
Star Wars 7 Hero Series Figure Assortment

Star Wars 7 Class I Vehicle Assortment
Star Wars 7 Class I Deluxe Vehicle Assortment
Star Wars 7 Class II Vehicle Assortment
Star Wars 7 Class II Deluxe Vehicle Assortment
Star Wars 7 Starfighter Vehicle
Star Wars 7 3.75 In Hero Vehicle
Star Wars 7 Hero Series Figure Vehicle Assortment
Star Wars 7 The Black Series 6-Inch Starfighter

As for the 5POA figures, I think I'm up to 4. I bought the Darth Vader and Droid set and then I got the Zeb & Storm Trooper set.

The main problem I have with the 5 POA is that I can easily get most of those characters with better figures on the secondary market for about the same price.
If E7 goes with 5POA I may get a few but not the whole line like I probably will if they have better articulation.
I'd still like to get some more of the Rebel's crew but I have only seen the Zeb as of yet.

So I guess yeah the 5POA are better than the 2.5" or even the 6" which I would never purchase. They just need better character selection.

To be fair, unless Hasbro decides to redo the original trilogy figures sans t-crotch, there isn't much they can do to sell me more 4" figures. Another random alien/guard/background-character here and there maybe, but unless they introduce a game-changing design, I'm pretty set.

I buy some of the 6" stuff, but that doesn't lend itself to big collections, army-building and such. I see that as a nicely detailed small collection to take up a shelf or two, and that's about it. It's not like we're getting a 1/12 TIE Fighter or they are going to make all the obscure cantina patrons in 6".

I get the idea the 5 POA figures are a place holder until Ep7 comes out. I'm sure even Hasbro understands they can only make the same characters so many times,

And yet, twenty years on and Hasbro is still doing the same characters....

I just have been picking up Jabba's goons here and there.. Hopefully Episode VII figures will be something different instead of reused parts bash fiesta.

It will most certainly be new parts. Well, mostly, I think. They could reuse and existing ST mold to do a Finn variant. No, I think the question is will they be regular figures or 5 POA?

We can assume somewhere down the line that one or both will happen. It's just when.

Hoe Lee Phuk!

Color me done if that's the case. Wonder if the 6" stay at the new bargain price of $20?

All of the Ep 7 Lego sets on that sheet look to be $5 more than this year, so looks like Disney is looking to pay for the Lucas Film merger thru licenses.

Well, I know my Target won't charge that much. They would have to carry 3 3/4 Star Wars Black figures for it to even happen. Here they only have the bigger figures and the 5POA. Only my TRU has SW Black figures here, but I only have ever saw Biggs and the price tag. Got my Malgus from Dre and my Mara from a Flea Market toy store.

I would have bought every Jabba henchman I saw if I would have ever saw any. Star Wars figures have been non stocked here since the OTC. They disappeared right before that awesome Gamorrean Guard was released. Nothing but Clone Wars stuff since until the 5POA hit. There are enough of them to ensure no Star Wars figure stock will happen in the next 15 years.

Our Targets and TRU are still at $9.99 after the resets. I also noticed the MU figures are still $9.99 at both as well.
you are lucky
both $12.99 at mine
all they have though is one Yoda & one Hoth Luke
they have had those for a month at least without ever restocking
they won't restock until the pegs are totally empty
even then it will take them a week or 2 to figure out the pegs are empty

Well Yavin Ceremony Leia got moved out of the next wave and they cancelled the solid cases of Ree-Yees and his case mates so I think they're adjusting what's going out.

If anyone is looking for custom fodder or cheap figures, check out HTS' Ebay Store.

Dagobah Luke is $5 shipped.
