That was the appeal of the blue one in the original catalog. It made sense. But then the guy in the cartoon looked more like the toy, and bluestreak is part of a colloquialism simply meaning "fast", so it was easy just to let it slide.

But as a kid, long before we could google everything or talk to people around the world on a whim, I always secretly thought that one day, I would find a Bluestreak like on the toy insert. I was convinced they existed and must have been a very early release that got changed by the time the toys reached my small town. Alas, I know that wasn't true, but I still always wanted that deco.

I am extremely surprised that KOs of this mold have existed for nearly a year and no one did this repaint. I figured I'd own a knockoff long before HasTak got off it's collective ass to produce a blue-bluestreak. A KO company would have made a mint.

They say "limited to 2000", but speculation is that it's limited only in Japan. BBTS still isn't sold out, and based on the TFW response alone, I would think they have sold hundreds of pre-orders already. Other typical American TF retailers have him up too. If this was limited to 2000 worldwide, there would likely be no domestic preorders, and if there were, they'd be $400-500 each catering to the money-is-no-object crowd.

The KO people will make him because they KO everything... and they have the mold already, so there is little effort. But so far, there seems to be little need for one, as "limited" seems to have a pretty vague definition at this point.

Might as well be. This is highly disappointing. I understand the need to do repaints, but damn, I have to assume that the number of TF MP fans who care about a female corvette homage to a diaclone figure has to be pretty small.

Between shitty repaints and Star Saber (and whatever only-popular-in-japan characters are sure to follow), this line has taken a left-turn at albuquerque. When they can be bothered to produce a proper 84-86 G1 character, they do a nice job, but more and more, I find myself looking to 3P products because they actually seem to know or care what fans actually want. As the 3P designs and QC continue to improve, I find myself caring less and less about actual HasTak products.

Got the Transformers Ultimetal Optimus Prime Figure Thursday. He's every bit of 40 pounds. Had I seen him before I preoedered I would have passed. Not only is he too heavy, but the armor locks in place poorly. So it you try and pose him it constantly wants to fall off. I'd rather have seen this figure in plastic.

EDIT: Here's a pic...

I'd at least feel like my money was more well spent being metal as opposed to plastic.

Couple years you'll likely be able to sell it for twice the cost, so there's that. :)

At this point, you shouldn't be surprised ;) Although it would have been nice if you got credit in the credits (I didn't watch them, but I'm assuming not), they have been copied so many times across the interwebs that I suspect most people have absolutely no clue where they came from or who to credit, even if they wanted to.

Beyond awesome! This is how toy battles play out in my head. I'd kill to have the time and patience to do this properly.

Forget CGI, Transformers Toys Have The Most Exciting Battles

Yeah, I think after one day I'd be over that project.

I just pushed "Ship my Loot" on Apollyon at BBTS. Hell hopefully process and ship before I'm back in town from my trip.

Also, that new FT Sludge looks fucking amazing. Sadly, he won't be out till probably mid 2016 at their pace, and their Grimlock may not even make it before 2017... But as long as I get Sludge in, I'll be happy to complete my Dinobots before replacing MP-08.

Jesus H. Christ folks bitching about that 3P Jazz. Other than maybe a hint of chrome or a shoulder launcher, it's damn near perfect. As close as any of the other MP bots, anyway, and it's just initial renders for fuck's sake.

God I hate collectors.

There are a couple of those fucktards that I suspect we'll see in the 2017 Darwin Awards.

I don't consider those people collectors, just people that enjoy nitpicking the shit out of everything while maintaining some aura of superiority due to their lofty standards and refusal to put "pieces of shit" in their uber-special-collection.

Really, the more mainstream 3P stuff becomes, the more entitled and emboldened the trolls get. Can you imagine the stink that would occur if City Commander armor were introduced today? Oh the humanity!

The thing is, it's a render, and it looks promising. The inherent need to tear it asunder within minutes of reveal is astounding.

The thing is, some of these small companies actually read the forums, and they admit to occasionally changing stuff based on this vocal minority. This only feeds the trolls to be even more critical and bombastic on the next product because they think their statements matter. The louder and more critical, the better in their minds. If I were to develop something, I would tell these morons to go fuck themselves.

Yeah but that's mildly what Omnigonix did (in a very polite manner) and now other asshats are whining "bad treatment!" so there's no winning.

I am annoyed that Omni is taking their time in getting that awesome Sunstreaker out, but you know what? I'm an adult and it's a non-issue really. And nobody else is putting out an MP Sunstreaker at this point, so it's them or nothing. So bitching about delays does no good.

I just find it amusing that they whine like kids on a road trip and then get upset when Dad pulls the car over. Months of bitching "no updatez?!" And then when he's stern about it and says "no new updates" they lose their fucking minds and grab pitchforks.

I thought Joe fans were bad.

No, TF fans are worse than Joe fans. They tend to have more money to spend (can you imagine $100-200 3P joes?!), and thus their sense of entitlement is even more inflated.

But yeah, when a product has no competition, they still complain, as if Sunstreakers and Jazz's are falling from the sky. If it takes too long, they complain. If it comes out too fast, they damn it with QC concerns before anyone ever lays a hand on it. If it's painted, they complain about lack of chrome. If it's chromed, they complain that the chrome might chip. If it's toon accurate, it's not in keeping with the G1 toy. If it's toy accurate, it's not toon accurate enough. The size cannot ever be correct because there are three different holy scale charts, and any deviation from a 30-year-old animation model drawn by a long dead japanese woman draws derision as "chugly" or "not MP enough".

HT has nothing on some of the TFW trolls. It's clear they are sister sites.

You guys see the irony, right?

Not at all. I keep my mouth shut about the fugly, overpriced club figures. I shrug and move along.

Or did you mean complaining about the complainers?

I draw the line at complaining about the complaining about complainers. Too deep into Inception-complaining at that point.

Saw that yesterday. My most modern gaming systems are PS2 and original Wii. This game might actually convince me to buy a current gaming system.

Sooooo, come october, should I go PS4 or XB1? I have no historical loyalty to either. I find most gaming systems to be inferior to PC gaming. I can imagine that console controllers would work nicely for racing games though. Who has the bast driving/racing? That'll probably tip the scales.

I'm partial to the PS systems. No particular reason besides familiarity.

Seems most franchise games are kinda, eh, but I'm still super excited to see the traditional animation and character designs brought back. I'm so done and over (always have been really) the movie designs and the FOC/WFC designs and RID/MTMTE designs and all the lame attempts at new toon designs...

Bring on the nostalgia!

And of course, they are getting Cullen/Welker to do voices as well. I never cared for movie or WFC games. But I'd consider a new console for this. While it seems like a franchise fighting game, nothing too special, the nostalgia factor is strong with this one. And it's supposed to be a quality developer (not that I personally would know).

I suspect my largest gripe will be the limited cast, only 5-6 members of each squad. I want to be swimming in '84 bots!
