So color me frustrated with the whole deal. I was on-line with the StyStriker and both versions of Z in my cart at 11:31, and could never get past the "Proceed to Checkout" phase for the two hours. I walked away with nothing.
While it's true that it would be a lot of money for HTS to invest in to the servers to handle the demand, it's also true that they are an on-line retailer, so they do have a responsibility to make sure they can handle the customers. It wasn't as though this is the first year this happened.
Staggering the sales might help a little, but honestly, probably not enough. SS went first, then (I think) CS Z and Z before the Indy set and the other Transformers. So I don't think that would have helped me.
Releasing a much-talked-about, highly-demanded figure like "classic deco" Zarana in limited quantities is a poor move by Hasbro, IMO. They could have made a mint by cranking out more of those babies and having them as an on-line exclusive. I fully understand saving the special repaints for SDCC Exclusives like the SS or CS Z, but I feel like Hasbro did a disservice to their fans, and themselves, with how they handled Pink.
To be clear, it's not that I'm saying I'm entitled to a toy that I'm frustrated. But it is the fact that I personally only view these as toys, and not as collectables to be sold on the secondary markets that I get frustrated.
$20 is about my upper limit on what I pay for a figure, so as much as I love Zarana and the 'Noks, she has just been priced out of my budget.
