I might just wait for a toy version. That's really the character/design I fell in love with. If that doesn't come...*shrugs*

Then you have to buy a 1:48 scale Yamato. The Macross/Robotech IP is vigorously protected.

I don't want that anorexic thing that I LOVED as a child, I want something with 30+ years of engineering advancement thrown at it.

Yamato's has 20yrs of engineering upgrades (it's been out for 10yrs now). Not sure what you are expecting since one nails the source animation for the original toy and now Fans Toys nails the source animation of... well... the animation. Valkyries will always be valkyries, they ain't fucking changing.

I have a 1/60 VF-1S with Super & Strike Parts (DYRL) that I bought in '10 and was planning to customize into Jetfire for my CHUG collection. Of course, I've since sold off my CHUG collection, and 1/60 is too small for MPs. I guess I'll have to dig it out and sell it. Doh!

I'll be seriously tempted to paint my Phoenix up like that though, or get the inevitable reprolabels to do it. While it sounds absurd, the reprolabels set for Ultra Magnus took him from a figure that looks like shit to a really cool bot. The TF community's love of "plain" is unforgivable.

Oh wow. My brain tells me he jumped out of the tele and landed on my desk. Sooooo much better than the first MP version I owned. I just want metallic since my Prime is. Funny how we all perceive things.

There's a lot to like about the figure, but I can't get past the skinny feet and ridiculously high waist/short torso.

I don't need Megatron to do the splits or yoga poses. I need him to look menacing on the shelf. TTv2 Megs just looks like his mom shrank his pants.

No doubt he's better than MP-05, which looks like a bizarre PoS by comparison. But next to Apollyon or Despotron, ugh...

It's best that you don't notice the awkward Urkel proportions. Once you see it, it cannot be unseen or ignored. Carry on.

All ALL of that. Every last word. Only addition I can add is that his head also looks kinda on the large size.

Seriously, what is with these designers giving their figures such stumpy torsos/high trousers? Is it a limitation that they can't figure out or do they genuinely think it looks good? If it wasn't for that, I think I could've looked past the large head (considering it looks so spot on) and skinny feet.

Eh, stupid mass shifting excuse character anyhow.

Waist is too wide, abs too short and chest is not wide enough, but I bet it looks damn good in person. I mean, you guys hate Ironhide and I think he's one of the best in hand. Pictures can really skew these guys for some reason.

I bought a Takasa Tony Ironhide months ago with the plan to mod him, transplant the head from TFC Ironhide, and try to make something passable since voodoo has gone tits-up, but I haven't even opened the box. TT Ironhide was just such a letdown I don't want to mess with it. TFC IH looks just fine with voodoo ratchet.

But I get it though. I love several figures that are universally reviled... Kronos, Apollyon, Spinout. Sometimes a figure hits the right notes and you can look past it's flaws. Other times, you see nothing but the flaws and wonder why anyone would buy it. Funny how that shakes out for different folks.

Eddie, is that regular Mp sideswipe or the oversized one? I thought it was regular until I looked at the noggin, and that made me think it was the Knock-Up. If so, that prime is almost TOO big!

Regardless, that Prime is mighty impressive. The only thing that bugs me is the ginormous thigh-gap. If there was a way to narrow that up, he'd be damn-near perfect.

Yeah, that's the knocked-up SS. For me, being 1:18th scale in alt mode, he's perfect considering that MAS01 is also 1:18th. Scale trumps toon for me. :D

As for the thigh gap, yeah, it's rather large. Seems they were forced to do it due to the size of the lower legs. Otherwise he couldn't stand straight up, which, honestly, I don't care about. I never have my figures saluting anyone.

Took this one before putting away my makeshift studio. What Starscream would like at the same scale. Aside from the F-14's ability to adjust it's wingspan, the F-14 and F-15 have VERY similar dimensions.

They're upsized to size "right" with MPP10 in bot mode. The funny thing is that MPP10 was scaled correctly to fit in with the alt modes of the TT MPs. So all that's happening with this upsizing of all the other figures is screwing up the alt mode scaling again. :lmao:

That Sideswipe is 1:18th.

I bought a KO six months ago with plans to do *something* with it... and I've never opened the box. I've never had so much apathy toward an MP figure before.

I admit the kit helps fix a major problem, but it's not like it's a cure-all. I hate his waist, his legs, his butt-wheels, the pot belly, and his horrible face sculpt. Ugh, what a shit figure.
