that explaind why it took me so long to proclaim my love for the "place". I mean come on, the boys were in school and my daughter was at grandmas house. I needed to keep busy while I was waiting for the con registration. Damn reg didnt go up today but it was fun refreshing the page!!
Ghj, if you're worried about them "selling out" once registration goes up, I don't think it does. Last year, they had ass-loads of troubles, but I think they left attending-registration up for a few days. Then, they opened it up for HFHeroes, which I was lucky enough to grab a boxed and bagged set, but others weren't as lucky.
thanks for the advice...I have no experience with this. I only did a home front reg when the Python Patrol sets went up. I am having alot of fun with my boys on this one. I have dropped hints bit I told them I would reveal where we were going when we are on our way. My 8 year old asked me how long we would be in the car and when I told him he asked if we could bring the old G.I. Joe cartoon dvds to watch in the car. I almost cracked and told him when he said that.
How can a "night force" set be a neon train wreck? I'm an ARAH junkie, but this is when I draw the line and say that slavish adherence to vintage color schemes is a very bad idea.
Before the reveals, I was cautiously optimistic. Now, I say "no, thank you."
With shipping, the boxed set will run you more than $25+ per figure. I'm not sure I'd give $25 for the whole set!

Meh, the Cobra "fire" team I don't so much mind being bright. It's the Joes who bug me, but only half have bad colors. Repeater, Psyche-Out and Hit & Run all match for the most part. Muskrat and Charbroil would be fine if that blue were dark navy or green, but Spearhead is both bad colors that match nobody else and frank don't look good in general, plus he's ill-fitting with all that mismatched parts use.
There's freaking 3 pink colored figs in that pic and they aren't even the biggest eyesore...that neon green dude is horrifically awful!
Yeah, Letal and Mortal both are "don't give a shit" figures for me. I never understood their appeal to begin with, other than "gotta catch 'em all" international collector mentality. They're stupid looking figures.
You nailed their appeal. They're international variants, and when you've got everything domestic but just have to keep buying 20 year old plastic army men you've got to go international.
Now OCD ME collectors can get in on the international tomfoolery.

Yes! Oh holy shit, I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates international shit.
I swear the deeper they dig into the ARAH ridiculousness the more I begin to loathe ARAH stuff, vintage or modern.
Really PoC ruined it for me I think, when I realized they could be doing SO MUCH MORE with the line instead of being beholden to the slavish ARAHfags.

The 30th line ruined the 25th line for me...the new sculpt work on them is so far superior to the 2007 stuff...heck, the 30th stuff is even better than the PoC stuff...check out the pants on that jungle Duke and then the pants on Law...one has nice sharp crisp pant folds, and the other is soft and fluffy...
I couldnt agree more. The quality of the 30th line is in my opinion probably the greatest 3.75 figure sculpts we may ever see. I will admit there are some of the JoeCon 2013 that I like and there are some I can do without. Honestly if it wasnt a relatively short driving distance and my kids not love the set I would probably cherry pick the figs I am interested in, plus I am curious what the convention only exclusives they will offer. I couldnt resist doing a side by side of the 25th Duke and any of the 30th offerings and it amazes me how they turned up the notch for figure designs in 5 years.
Though not all are in love with the designs and coloring of the 30th figs I'm gonna mention, the level and detail of the sculpt work can't be ignored...

I think Life Line is one of the best bits of fodder. We finally get articulated gloveless hands. The elbows are resculpted for realism and they ditch those stupid pads. The cuffs match, unlike the ST arms. It has a nice collared shirt sculpt with a good belt, plus 5 sculpted points where sheaths, holsters, pouches, or grenades can be placed. If only they found another use for the figure than this Hit & Miss, we would be really happy.
I think I have Lifeline somewhere.. I'll have to take a look.

this list pretty much sums it up...I wish the same level of detail were being put into the Retalliation line (the ultimate figs excluded).
First release, to get my ARAH fix, yes...but I would LOVE if they followed up ARAH decos with more realistic decos on ALL the figures they release...

Eddie, go apply to Hasbro. If they can release 30,000 versions of EVERY Star Wars character on the planet, they should be able to release more realistic based decos, but of course Arah fags will shit their pants if Beachhead isn't aqua green, or Cobra isn't set in Blue.

I can no longer give two shits what Hasbro makes anymore. Not to say I don't dig "more realistic" decos, I would rather just see new parts so I can go back to playing with men's buttholes and make my own ARAH accurate figures. Also as said fag I don't like the Con set either.
