I'm actually really glad I didn't go to JoeCon this year. Dodged that bullet, I guess. It was all-around really, really disappointing.

Hasbro better have some shit to show at SDCC, or else they're really getting fucking pathetic with this line. This last year has been the worst showing of "new" stuff in the last 6 years, considering that 90% of the most awesome stuff was all "Aww, look what we aren't making!" stuff.

At Toy Fair, they showed what? The Tomahawk, and some cancelled/hiatus/concept stuff that was finally seeing light of day? That was cool, but they didn't show much... Just a rehash of the rehash we saw at SDCC that was a rehash of JoeCon 2012. They really didn't show much of anything this time except for 4 or 5 "concept" guys? Granted, those kick ass, but they're not exactly winning us over with a case full of "maybe", no matter how great it looks.

The FSS 2.0 figures I assumed we'd see more than just 2 shitty pics and a list of half-lackluster names. I guess they'll string us along for 2-3 weeks revealing one every few days again like last year.

God, can Hasbro please take the license away from the Club and give it to someone else, or just cancel this fucking convention?

I think the reality is the future of the line depended more Retaliation than we'd like to admit. Not that the line depended on a movie but you know how suits are when you invest in something, a 200% profit is no longer enough.

So I finally bothered to look at pics of the second most homo Joe on the team and it dawned on me that Gung Ho has a brand new flak vest sculpt.


We need that figure released. At brick and mortar retail. And no I don't give a fuck if some Storm Shadow or Cobra Commander has to get the axe to do it.

No offense to Obi, but I think the ninja fans are few and far between in GI Joe. Sure, they play a large part of the mythos but I don't think the average Joe fan (that the majority of this shit is geared to) or even the average child buyer is that excited to see ninja after ninja in the Joe line besides Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, and maybe Jinx after the most recent cartoon and movie.

Besides, Obi makes far better custom ninjas off the basic ninja buck than Hasbro can squeeze out in a rainbow multi-pack anyways.

That ninja pack, if it's real, will be the first multi-pack I will skip. I'd probably get a zombie one for the novelty of it, but it's not a must-have by any stretch.

Of course!

Besides very select versions of Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes and Jinx, there's Dice, Slice, red ninja, and any other oddball ARAH Ninja Force ninjas they throw at us that I'd buy... But the only new ninja I care about ever owning is a Kamakura.

And they have yet to make a Kamakura in the modern line that I like because he's never anything besides a Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow kitbash. Also, he's always some weird-ass color, too. The new 3-pack one is okay, except I hate the color, and he's yet again the lovechild of SS/SE.

The more I think about it, the more I'm puzzled at the delay in wave 3. The only explanation I can think of is that they just shut down factory production for a while last year.

There's so many ARAH designs that actually would look good in modern takes. A lot of the concept vault stuff helps that statement. Except I wish they would tweak some colors to a more realistic pallete. Gung Ho and Beachhead come to mind.

I still do not understand the logic of showing the concept case if no plans are there for them. Granted the name says not to expect it, but still, why bother. I have not read a single instance of someone happy they saw something they like and are told they wont get it. Seems like Hasbro likes to slap collectors sometimes.

My take on it based on a limited knowledge and listening to an hour of the two Hasbro product managers speak. They are fans and want to put out the best product possible but are very small cog in a huge machine and upper management does not see Joe as a priority. It seems to me like the guys working on Joe are doing the best they can and show these things to gin up excitement and hopefully pull through some product to production.

I get what your saying. I just don't see it working the way they want it to. Ever. If the online Joe community as a whole is any indication of the Joe collectors as a whole, It doesn't do any good for positive excitement, it just has made people complain, like I am. lol. Now if the pissed off we are not gonna get this figure excitement that never ends (like Kwinn, lol) is what they are going for. Its a big hit.

Hasbro needs to re-release the popular and most wanted figures that didn't get good distribution in the first place. It's a gold mine they're not taking advantage of. Nearly all the later wave POC (like shadow tracker and money Destro) and 30th (like life-Line, the Zombie, etc) stuff needs a good re-release, or at least a repaint. They made the right choice reusing that over rated renegades storm shadow body that everyone gushed over for the DG exclusives, but even that is hard to come by.
