Hey nacho, how'd the KO Ratbat turn out?
I was considering selling off my MP Soundblaster and official Ratbat if I can get the KO, but I've read that they have some issues.

I haven't transformed him yet (just been busy), but in tape mode, he feels really heavy and solid. But my standards are probably different that some. I would never buy a $150 soundblaster just to get ratbat. So given that this is my only option that doesn't involve paying through the nose, I'm not going to be hard to please.
He was on sale for $120, and I got it as a birthday present.
So he was "free" to me, and due to being a gift is the only reason I own him or MP-11 Starscream.
Well MP Bumblebee arrived today! I bought 2 so they sent it in the case box. It is a Hasbro box!

Then there is Bugbite, Bumblebee's evil Decepticon clone. Bug Bite (2004) - Destron - www.tfu.info They would have to change the sunroof since the Autobot symbol is molded onto there.
Lastly there is the G2 golden Bumblebee. I could see e-Hobby try for this one as an exclusive.

I could see them doing plenty of repaints, but they do that with virtually every mold. I have no interest in any of them, aside from the inevitable reshell as cliffjumper.
Pre-TF, diaclone, and foreign repaints just don't do much for me. The cost and space that these things require force me to really focus on the "important" figures. And in my world, "important" = '84.
But yeah, I have no doubt that there will be a market for all kinds of variants of the bumblebee figure.

Agreed! Bumble for me is an exception since I also like VW Beetles.
Technically should the repaints be a little cheaper since it would make little to no sense including Exosuit Spike with them.
I find the licenses interesting in themselves.
Nissan was printed with the boxes.
VW has a cool 3D sticker.
Lancia was just a regular sticker.
It has no ankle pivots, no landing gear, no rubber tyres, and it's not the 'toon accurate head sculpt from that one scene in that one episode. And the scale is off. If it were 0.37mm taller, I'd consider it. It should be a combiner with the other four box-men to form Boxitron, originally only released as a cancelled ehobby exclusive and only known by three TF fans worldwide. But it better have some diecast. But it better not have too much diecast. And since I don't know who the manufacturer is, I'll assume it's that one I hate who had that one QC problem, and they are so stupid that they missed their original release deadline by a whole week. No way am I paying more than $4 for this. meh. pass. no thanks. FAIL!

Is it me, or is there little in the world of TFs uglier than that Gold MP-05? MP Megs was probably the worst MP released thusfar, and making a Pimp Daddy version that corresponds to nothing in any medium serves WHAT purpose? He's not even the same scale as the previous hideous gold Ghetto Horsey Prime. Someone at HasTak has lost their mind.
That gold Megs is just awful. ANY of those gold figures are awful. Guess there must be some market though or it wouldn't get made. Some people just have bad taste.
Nobody wanted a rerelease, let alone a weird pseudo-gold one. I don't know why they wasted the plastic on that one.
To squeeze a few more dollars out of a mold they were about to obsolete. They made several repaints and a "final" version of MP01/04 just before announcing MP-10. I assume a new-scale Megs will be this year. That 3P Apollyon looks like it will fill the gap nicely and force HasTak to really bring their A-game.

Actually there are a few people who do want a re-release. Some of them I think are reluctantly buying the gold one. I wouldn't mind a release just to annoy the scalpers.
I was really annoyed at that year of the horse Prime since I wanted regular one.
They should have just made this one...

OK, recognizing that I'm REALLY late to the party....
I bought an original Takara MP-10 when they were released (whatever year that was), and I opened him up today for the first time (as I slowly clean out my storage unit). And I have to say, this figure is a complete piece of shit. It's not worthy of carrying MP-01's jock strap. Huge gap in his chest, giant scratch on his chrome grill, all plastic so it feels cheap as hell, odd proportions, both index fingers fell off just by looking at them.... colossal disappointment... and I haven't even transformed him yet. Not sure I will bother.
He'll stay on my MP shelf just because he scales properly with all the cars, but wow, I am unimpressed. Man, you must've had a dud. Mine came missing a side mirror from BBTS. I sent it back, got a replacement missing the finger. I think it had bad QC or something.

Overall my only complaints are the arms are a tad long, the silver on the bicep is missing, and I would've liked the lights on the cab painted. (And the eyes I guess are a tad dead... My MP-01 is perfect. No chest gap, no sagging over time (and mine's been on display for over a decade). I've had nearly every version of the mold, but the only one I've kept is the first I ever bought - 20th Prime w/ replacement long stacks, and the igear anime head. Greatest toy ever made, and I think it holds up aesthetically more than 10 years later.
But damn, MP-10 is a waste of plastic. If my chest is mistransformed, then it came that way out of the package b/c I never transformed him. And his fingers fall off! I've never had the first issue with MP-01. That thing's a tank. Sure, it's heavy, but it feels substantial and has never had an issue with posing or falling over. Ten feels like a chinese knock-off. And something was bothering me about the face, and now that you say it, it is the eyes. When I compare MP-01 to MP-10, the ONLY pro in Ten's favor is that he fits the current scale. Everything else is a step backwards. If someone made an MP-01 scaled between 01 and Faith Leader, I'd chuck Ten in the river.

Goddamn BBTS! I've had several MP items on preorder for months, and they're in stock everywhere else. I even got an email stating that Ultra Magnus was in stock, but my PO still says "estimated to arrive late December."

Yeah, i'm waiting on Brawny and Invisible which both seem to be shipping with abandon from everywhere else. Regardless, my PoL has been sitting there since July, so BBTS is going to force me to ship soon. I just hope they get a couple more items in there first.
I'm waiting on Apollyon too. I'm just hoping it hits before CNY, otherwise it'll be March.

We haven't seen colored test shots of Apollyon yet. I'm betting we don't see him till April or May. All those other fuckers have been in-hand for weeks though. I'll wait on Apollyon, I don't expect him to be in my next POL anyway.
I'm more antsy about Soar from BBTS since the dumbasses put "Dinobot" on the box as a typo of Dibots. They're not usually so protective of likenesses as they are trademarks.
Oddly enough, Skywarp is already in my POL, and he was slated for January, and the one I was least excited about.

Until a week ago, BBTS still had Apollyon listed as december, then it moved to Jan and then Q1. I suspect they'll force me to ship long before it's released, but Brawny and Invisible better be in there.
I'm not gonna lie, I feel really good about skipping the MP Dinobot wars of 2014. Just not my favorite characters, coupled with delays and QC issues on top of the high prices. I was going to get a set from one company or another, and I'm genuinely glad I didn't start down that road - because if I had gotten one, I'd have to finish the set. They look fantastic, but my MP shelf really can live without them.

FT knocked Scoria out of the park as far as I'm concerned. I can't wait to finish the set. I only ever had the G2 Dinobots (the 3 off-colored versions, ugh) so I'm stoked to finally get cartoon-accurate Dinobots. Despite them being retards in the show, I always loved them. MP-08 looks great but he's fiddly as shit and I hate all the gimmicks he comes with except for the eye-color change. The rest prohibited way too much in the trade off.
I'll be pissed if they somehow get shut down before they get to their own Grimlock. I was highly disappointed in the official one the day he came out due to his tiny size and gimmicks.

Heh...assuming the head comment was a jab at his stupid no periferal vision design...if not, his head is there, it's just behind the crane part.
As for the MPs, I'm not really liking the color of UM...too dark of blue...I'm hoping a more baby-blue'ish color is released, maybe at TRU?
I think I prefer MMCs Mirage...I'm gonna hold out until I see him in color.
Dinobots...yeah, like you nacho, they were never a fave of mine, so I'm sitting them out too. Though I gotta say, FPs are extremely tempting. Thinking about the $500-$600 though, easy pass.

I'm skipping Magnus. Too much money, not enough space. I'm strictly a Season 1 MP collector at this point.
MMC's Mirage looks like it's made of marshmallows and gummybears. Why is everything so rounded? And while Invisible's head isn't my favorite (chinstrap?), MMC's is equally strange with it's odd bike helmet look. But the killer for me was the fiddly look of Sphinx. He looks like he was designed by the FP Menasor team, and that's a MAJOR turn off. Too many hinges and clever attempts to hide stuff = fiddly transformation, more breakage points, QC issues, and in this case, less G1-appearance.
Neither 3P Mirage is perfect, but I'm going to cast my lot with Invisible. If Sphinx turns out to be the next Quakewave, then I'll get one of those too. Either way, another 3P needs to make some heads for these damn Mirageses... Miragi?
