Well, and this is just a "shipping label created" notification. That shit shouldn't alert you until it's been actually shipped. I hate it when that happens.

If it weren't for the high price, I'd actually own one of these...

Dammit, Brawny just dropped into my POL while my other shit I "shipped" last week just fucking sits in their warehouse. Sigh. Guess I'll wait to ship him with my second Autobot MP cassette from KFC.

I cancelled my Soar last minute before shipping my POL. Wonder if that $200 loss pissed them off? Hah.

And I just now got my FedEx tracking to show up. Next Thursday! Ugh. Here I was thinking CP would beat BBTS in getting here. At this point, I'm not so sure.

Why'd you cancel your Soar? Going with a different brand?

Pay attention! It's a few pages back! :talktothehand:

Naw, I went with Captured Prey so I could go ahead and ship my POL because BBTS was taking forever to get it in. As it turns out, it was cheaper by $15-20 alone, and with free shipping from CP, so probably like $25-30 even with my POL combined due to the sheer size of the extra weight of an MP Dinobot. If it had just been the same price, I would've kept it in my POL.

Of course, I didn't expect either store to take a goddamn week to ship, either, so I guess it didn't really pay off when it came to delivery speed, but in the end I'll save somewhere around $25-30 overall. So not a total loss, just a longer wait.

Oh right, I recall now. I breezed over what you were actually canceling. Too much reading. :D

Got an update from USPS finally about my RK order. It's in NY for some reason. At least it's moving.

How will they get it past the marauding bandits of detroit and hordes of unemployed Applebees workers?

(As you know, after the great recession, I picture Michigan as a Mad-Max post-apocalyptic wasteland full of abandoned houses and people wandering the streets in angry mobs. It's a wonder the state is still habitable. Barter system? Tribal rule? Fur pelt exchange?)

Well there you go. Nothing but gang members and auto plants as far as the eye can see, right?

Back to TFs, I still haven't had Brawny hit my PoL. Either they didn't get their full allotment, or they're taking a long time to process them all. I'm anxious to ship so I can get Invisible and try out an Alt/BT Mirage head on him. I expect the result to be epic.

I'm loving the look and the fact that it adds three decepticons to the S1 ranks. They are a little bigger than I imagined, as I never pictured a reflector-bot larger than an autobot car, but it doesn't bother me. He looks good with the other cons, and if he proves a match for an autobot, so be it. It's better than being too small.

Also, on TFW, it's has been implied that the set will include a small camera-mode accessory the proper size for MP figures to hold. And really, how could they not.

Yeah, I preordered both. Makes me wonder if they're not biting off more than they can chew though? Finish the Dinobots first... I'd be ok if they skipped Skyfire altogether, but don't want them losing focus on the Dinobots.

With that said, I'm most excited for Reflector as I agree, we need more Decepticons. But I sort of feel like TakTomy maaaaay get around to Reflector, to be honest.

I figure that if they haven't done Shockwave, coneheads, insecticons, constructicons, blitzwing, astrotrain, or a properly-scaled MP Megatron, it'll be twenty more years before HasTak gets to a MP Reflector. Hell, they haven't done a reflector at any scale since the G1 mail-away, so I can only assume that he's 347th on their priority list.

My reaction about FT is just the opposite. I really liked Quakewave, and then it seemed like they went down the Dinobot rabbit hole for two years. Given my lack of Dino interest, I'm thrilled they are doing something else... anything else.

I just want a complete set of Dinobots first. I want them to do other stuff too, but folks want complete sets. Would you not be annoyed if halfway through Constructicons, Takara was like, let's take a break to make some Minibots?

Oh I would. I'm not saying it's right... It's just that my complete lack of interest in Dinobots leaves me wide open to be happy that they are doing something I like much better. If they were doing MP Seacons, and they stopped to do MP Hound, you'd probably be thrilled, right?

If I was collecting MP dinos, I'd be pissed. As it is.... yeah Reflector!

See, I figured that Takara maaaay tackle Reflector as a precursor to doing a true combiner... Just like I feel maybe Star Saber could lead to a triplechanger. Also, they seem to like to tackle either prominent characters or ones that deserve "good" representations of their G1 Sunbow self, and Reflector looked nothing like the cartoon model.

Takara really know how to underwhelm. On the same day FT reveals two new awesome MPs, Takara unveils a re-release of a popular figure that's already had three (four?) previous releases, and a repaint that no one (aside from Bumblebee fanatics, all three of them) will give two shakes about. Ring-a-ding-ding HasTak.

I just looked over my toy spreadsheet and updated it with everything revealed about 2015 so far, and the TF column has nothing on it from Hasbro or Takara. Everything is from a 3P. Hopefully Tak will rectify that with some actual *new* MP products soon.

I keep waiting (hoping) for the day that HasTak is underwhelming us regularly (now would be perfect!) and suddenly and unexpectedly they drop an MP combiner. :D

I don't see the MP combiner thing happening, at least not anytime in the next five years. Not when they are having success with higher-profile characters, many of which have repaint potential. Why would you do Mixmaster, when you could still do Ironhide/Ratchet, Trailbreaker/Hoist, Mirage/diaclone-somebody, Jazz/Stepper, Inferno/Grapple, etc etc. Even insecticons would be better, as those at least have multi-purchase potential.

Plus, there is risk with combiners. As we see in the 3P world, it takes forever to put out a set. If one figure is a dud, it kills potential for several future figures. Plus you have to keep older figures in production through the final figure, otherwise you'll never get a new fan to jump on figure #5 if 1-4 are out of production. Sure, 3P's can handle this b/c they are doing small runs for an informed niche market. It's a whole different ball of wax on a much larger production scale, and the chance for major losses is much greater. I'm not saying it'll never happen... just not in the near future when there is so much other low-hanging fruit.

I think they'd do best releasing something like Devastator as a 2- or 3-pack option, and maybe splitting something in between like they did with Soundwave and the cassettes.

I'd prefer a 3-pack, that way you could put half the Devastator box art on the top box, and then the bottom half on the second box and stack them for displays so it showed the whole giant. Otherwise, I think the boxes would be weird and TakTomy always pays decent attention to the box artwork.

But I'm with nacho... As much as I want an MP Devy, I want the regular smaller releases more, first. I feel like they could end the line with Devastator and it would be a fitting closure.

I've been watching that thread... He's not one I was expecting but I'll take him. I agree, he looks good. And it's nice to get some Autobots that aren't cars.

I can't wait for them to make a Trailbreaker/Ironhide truck-sized vehicle to add some variety in height though. Part of me wishes he was slightly taller in bot mode, but I'm impressed at how much mass they crammed into the robot mode.

Yeah, I don't give two craps about freaking cartoon animation, a tank should AT LEAST be as large as Optimus. But then, it's super cool to see that UM can haul him. I'm very torn on his size. It is pretty neat that he's as large as he is in alt mode, but is still the same height as a car bot.

And I'm not fond of the color of WP, but that I am a stickler of for characters I am a fan of, so I wouldn't want to that changed for the sake of people who are fans of the character. I can tolerate scale deviations if it's to correct alt mode scale, but I personally need to see deco/color from animation/toys maintained.

I think he looks really good, but I'm just not that into S2 characters. They just don't have the charm of the Ark crew. It feels like they tried too hard to give them all a gimmick. Mirage, Bluestreak, and Wheeljack have very distinct personalities, but not over-the-top, in-yo-face. Warpath, Powerglide, Hoist, Seaspray... they border on jar-jar territory for me.

It's funny, I'm not normally a "scale guy" like eddie, but in this case, I kinda get it. While Soundwave and Megatron alt modes size never bothered me, when there were multiple characters that turned into basically the same thing but were very different sizes, THAT bothered me. It's more of a consistency thing than a scale thing I suppose. Huffer and Prime being dramatically different... that bothered me. Air Raid and Starscream, both F-15 jets but very different in size, that bothered me.

I'm really not a scale guy, but there are examples that bother me lots more than others. It's completely illogical. But for my collection, 'bot mode scale accuracy is waaaaaaay more important than anything they do with alt-mode.

Season 1 and 2 are all I count besides the opening of the 87 movie, so I'll take some of 'em.

I'd be ok with the car-sized and bigger, although for some reason I liked Beachcomber. I guess he and Warpath are two of the better choices? I absolutely HATE Powerglide and Cosmos, though.

There are some decent car-and-up guys, though. Tracks? Inferno? They'd be high on my list after Red Alert and Smokescreen, both of whom I have already. There are a few others I wouldn't turn down, either. Hoist, Perceptor, Blaster and minions, maybe even Skids...

Until the current iteration of MTMTE comics, Skids was the most useless character in TF lore. The recent comics actually made him far more interesting. 3P's are tackling Blaster and Perceptor, so you'll likely have those bases covered.

Seriously.... obnoxious powerglide, hippie beachcomber, fat whiny UFO, batshit crazy Countach fire chief (how is THAT a disguise?!), boat that talks like he's drowning, insubordinate british prick tow-truck, a minivan, a tank that talks like John Madden on cocaine, a race car whose power is "pollution", and a flying corvette. Yeah, that's a thing.

Other than Blaster, Perceptor, and the Aerialbots, S2 characters are just terrible. I'll take insecure Hotrod and Han-Solo-wannabe Springer any day over most S2 guys.

I guess I didn't get so hung up on their personalities as you.

I just thought they looked cool. Cosmos, Powerglide and Skylynx? Not so cool.

Skids just feels so G1, it's hard not to love his design.
