As a kid, I always gravitated to the characters I could either identify with or aspire to be like in some way. The S2 guys were not like me, and they didn't present anything I could admire. Looking back, they all give off the "poochie" vibe.

I guess I didn't get so hung up on their personalities as you.

I just thought they looked cool. Cosmos, Powerglide and Skylynx? Not so cool.

Skids just feels so G1, it's hard not to love his design.

Yeah, same here. When I was a kid, I was much more concerned about a cool alt mode and/or bot mode. Being annoyed with personality didn't come in until I got much older. I don't think I even I knew half their names. They were "red Lamborghini" or "blue jet".

Well supposedly my FedEx shipment arrived 3 days early, wtf. Looks like my BBTS and CP shipments are arriving same day after all! UPS has yet to update delivery so it may not be home yet, but should be by end of day.

That's 4 big bots and a teeny tiny one to add to my MP collection!

My Brawny finally dropped yesterday, so I shipped my pile, and it left the "warehouse" status to being shipped in under 24 hours. So I feel like that's pretty good turn around. Of course, it'll take a week to get here, but that's not exactly their fault.

I'll be getting MP WJ, MP Bee, Invisible, Brawny, a clearanced IT Allicon, and a couple of the Jubilee wave ML figures. Should be fun.

Just opened 3 of the 4 big boxes. Ultra Magnus is huge! Blaster is pretty awesome, and Soar is solid as hell. I even like the little cassette guy.

I more or less just looked over the robot modes for QC, I haven't even attempted to transform them yet. Guess I need to check out Skywarp in a bit...

Wife is pissed!

I think he'd understand and gladly give it up for the cause. You probably only need to borrow it. Or just "make" one yourself.

Still haven't transformed any of my new TFs. I think I got too many at the same time, it's a bit overwhelming.

I was trying to clear up some damn space and organize some shit in my nerd closets, and I'll be damned if I can't find my fucking MP Skywarp (Walmart version) stand. I looked all over for it. I pulled out my early Takara Seekers (MP-03, MP-06, MP-07) to sell along with the Walwarp, and cannot for the life of me find that damn stand.

Nacho, you have it right? Can you remember what came with it besides the jet/bot and missiles clipped to his wings? There's the stand base and clear anchor part, and then the little Dr. Arkeville... I'm assuming all that shit was taped underneath the stand? Was there a fucking set of instructions anywhere in the box? Sigh.

Aaaand I found it. I had a "eureka" moment when I was looking through a box of TF shit and realized I had seen the stand in a box of random loose Joe stuff I'd collected and tossed into a box... along with the Skywarp stand. Still not sure where the instructions are, though? Were they underneath the stand, or in the box portion underneath the figure?

I found the instructions, finally. Somehow they got shuffled into a stack of Joe vehicle stickers. Goddamn room is a mess. I've spent most of the day sorting out shit to rebox.

This figure is pretty cool, but the scale issues would drive me absolutely batty!

Unique Toys Y-01 Provider (Octane) - TFW2005 - The 2005 Boards

Supposedly MP, yet the truck cab will smaller than MP-10. Think they should've made it as large as UM.

Then there's the jumbo jet mode. Super cool! But no way heck that'd ever be made to scale. And I might be the only person on the planet that would want it to. :D

Taken from Nacho's post...

"Seriously.... obnoxious powerglide, hippie beachcomber, fat whiny UFO, batshit crazy Countach fire chief (how is THAT a disguise?!), boat that talks like he's drowning, insubordinate british prick tow-truck, a minivan, a tank that talks like John Madden on cocaine, a race car whose power is "pollution", and a flying corvette. Yeah, that's a thing."

Nacho,

You made me laugh so hard it hurt!

So I posted my MP-03, MP-06, and MP-07 seekers on CL like, forever ago, and finally got a bite. A guy's willing to pay (at least for the time being) the $500 asking price I've got on all 3 combined.

I figured at that, I'm not at a loss because I paid less for them combined when I got them, and I don't really want them anymore because a) I prefer the MP-11 mold and I now have a set of all 3 and b) The boxes are huge and take up a lot of space, and c) it's dumb to keep them boxed and may as well sell the damn things.

Looking at eBay, they go for retarded amounts but I kind of just wanna get rid of them. Not terrible, right? I never was looking at making bank on them, I just didn't want to lose money on them.

I sold my MISB MP-07 for over $500 alone, and about $160 each for the other two original seekers (open but MIB). I had no clue that TC was so damn rare, but I wasn't going to complain.

But yeah, anytime you can enjoy something and get more than you put into it back, then it's tough to feel bad. Between igear seekers and newer hasbro releases, the original seekers are kind of pointless with the antiquated design and less-than-ideal decos.

And I agree about the boxes. I used to keep them and imagine displaying them in shelves around the top of the room because they looked cool. But as they have so many sizes and releases, it's become a losing proposition.

Yeah, Greenscream commands a higher price than Skywarp, which isn't usually that much (I had them individually listed as MP-03 for $200, MP-06 for $120, and MP-07 for $300, but offered all 3 for $500) but for some damned reason TC is kind of rare.

If I cared, I'd split them up and eBay them but I hate eBay and don't really care to get the most out of it as I just need the space, so I figured $500 for the set wasn't bad. I think I paid original retail price for all 3, which was maybe $100ish/per? I think it's because they did a short run of Skywarp then did a second release later, so there are more of him, so I didn't feel bad tossing him in as a freebie with the other 2 for $500.

I'm also selling my Walwarp and extra TRUcracker.

I had two WM Warpers that I sold for $100 each. I paid regular price for the first ($40?), and I remember buying the second on clearance for $15. Wishing I'd gotten more now!

TRUcracker isn't as bright as the igear version, but he's much brighter than MP-07. I really like TRUcracker, but it bugs the shit out of me that his badges are right-side-up, which is completely incorrect AND inconsistent with prior releases. I haven't put decals on my igear SS and SW yet, so I have this delimma: Do I make them all incorrect but matching on the shelf, or do I make the igears correct and inconsistent with TRUcracker? Stupid Hasbro.

Well, to be fair Takara put the damn wing insignias on the same way on MP-11SW so at least two of my Seekers are consistent. If one is going to be off, I'm ok with it being Starscream. I was more annoyed by the weird silver "shorts" and the stupid tampos, especially the tailfin ones that are so obvious.

Man, they look so weird with their tiny heads and skinny legs. I hated those hip scabbards, what a dumb fucking design.

I've bought that goddamn mold so many times now it makes my head hurt. After I sell these 5, I'll only have 6 left. I've already sold my Walscream a few years ago, and had 3 previous that were lost in fire damage.

Oh goddammit! I love these things but the 3rd parties are almost pumping shit out too fast now. And they're on par with Takara-Tomy quality for the most part, so it's often hard to pass on a lot of the more recent ones, especially knowing that (eventually) Takara will get to some of them like Blaster.

They seem a tad squat, though. Takara usually gives them slightly more slender or heroic builds, and for some reason Badcube's stuff seems a little squat-n-chunky?

I'm in if the set is sub 200. More than that, and I'm not sure. Proportions vary, but since badcube has focused on minibots (who are normally a little "squat-n-chunky") thusfar, I'm not surprised. Doesn't turn me off though. Better than we're getting from anyone else :)

Yeah, I got those goddamned "ninja" FP Insecticons and hated them the second I opened them. I don't even think I transformed them, and I don't really want to, either. They're way too CHUG for my tastes. I should actually just sell them as it is, because they're just a waste of space as far as I'm concerned.

I have no problem with the FP insecticons, although I don't display them with the ninja-looking weapons. The figures themselves, while not purely G1, have enough vintage vibe to get by. They stand in nicely on my MP shelf until something better comes along, and it looks like badcube is trying to rectify that.

TFW is beside itself bashing the proportions of these, as if insecticons are known for being tall, skinny characters. While everyone has different opinions on the perfect proportions of these guys, if I hear the term "chibi" thrown around once more, I'll likely reach through the screen a punch one of these mouth-breathers in the vagina.

Don't even know what chibi is.

The proportions for the insecticons (and lots of G1 really) was all over the place in animation and toys. How in the heck do these tards expect designers to pick the right model for everyone's personal taste?

Well Badcube does tend to prefer the squat/square aesthetic, which works for some characters. My concern is more or less that they're just so damn boxy when they don't need to be. Angular, sure. Just not so square!

I do tend to agree that I'd like to see them just a tad taller or with longer limbs, or something. The one with the Shredder grill-face is too much of a cube right now.

Hey, maybe that's why they're called BadCube?
